Celtic v. Barca thoughts

I had a chance to catch a replay of their 1st leg match last night, and all i can say is -- wow. Barca looking f*cking good. Celtic got lucky as hell to go up 1-nil -- if you look up "against the run of play" in the dictionary, you will read a summary of the first 15 minutes of that match. Barca could have been up 4-0 after 15 minutes.

Obviously, Barca's offensive is incredible, but their defense wasn't shabby, either, despite conceding two to Celtic. Celtic seemed to have 2 or 3 chances the whole match, and just happened to convert on two of them, the second being a really soft goal. All in all, I think it's fair to say that they looked the best of all the 16 teams playing this week.

Finally -- if Ronaldinho is washed up, I'd love to see him continue his washing up at Stamford Bridge wearing blue. He looked every bit the player he was against us in our previous CL clashes. He showed great vision, great touch, great passing ability, very good speed, fine stamina, etc. I've only watched bits and pieces of La Liga matches this season, and I think I was expecting him to have a pot belly and a wheelchair.

Spot on Mannyjello

Barca look as good as ever to me and the scoreline was very flattering to Celtic (IMO)

I still love to see Ronaldinho and Galactico or not would love to see him grace the turf at the bridge in our colours.

Messi is in a class of his own.........looks like Zola reincarnated!

gotta say, winker might be having a good season but Messi looks the best player around at this time,

certainly prefer to watch his diverse abilities than yawning at yet another dozen unnecessary stepovers and a few decent free kicks icon_wink.gif

Celtic way out of their depth .

What i find more amusing is that Celtic fans actually think they are on the same level as these top sides and are stupid enough to think they are good enough to win the C.L.

There as irritating as Liverpool fans here , but Celtic fans ARE Liverpool fans here and the two go hand in hand.

I hope they get the embarassment of their life in the away leg.
