Clive Walker on Talk Sport

Featured Replies

Clive Walker on talk sport today didnt have too many nice things to say about Drogs and agreed with most of what was thrown at him. Now Drogs gets on my tits at times, especially last night but i thought Walker should have stood the ground and not acknowledge what was being put to him , not because Drogs is a saint, but because that f**king radio station is completely anti chelsea and i felt he should have defended the Chelsea player a bit more purely out of spite and mentioned his strenghts as opposed to the bad things . We all know what Drogba is like , last night he was a disgrace at times but he's our player and i'd never run him down to those bar stewards in the studio, especially as the laughter rang around the studio during the whole conversation.

Are you saying as Chelsea fans we should be turn a blind eye to things we don't like and vigorously defend players regardless? Personally I don't buy that at all. However, I still think you should at least support the players and defend them if possible, but being honest, Drogba's actions can be pretty hard to defend at times.

If you read it again you can see he isn't suggesting we turn a blind eye, far from it. But it does get a bit annoying when he is the only player (apart from Ronaldo I guess, but less so lately) who is picked up on it without fail. Torres is terrible at throwing himself up and then down again, has anyone mentioned it? Course not. Joe Cole is another one, makes me cringe, but again, not picked up on it. Could it be because he's English and to be honest, been the best player in the England team for a couple of years now? Wouldn't put it past them.

Drogba is disgusting sometimes, but you'd think he's the only one in the league who does it.

I agree Gem. I'd also make the point that whilst Drogba is a drama queen and will roll around like a wounded boar at every opportunity, he generally has at least had some contact from the defender before throwing himself to the ground. Unlike Ronaldo or Stevie Me who seem to specialise in falling dramatically without even being touched.

Agreed with Gem also; I don't like to see our players doing it at all (I'd say Joe Cole is worse for reckless tackles than diving though!) but there are certainly a lot of players who are pretty bad for it and it never gets picked up on.

Never suggested we should defend any kind of cheating because an individual is a Chelsea player , but talk sport will jump on any opportunity to have a go at Chelsea , Lamps and his performances, Jose's antics when he was manager , our fans , anything to get a dig in and yesterday the two presenters were just looking for an opportunity . Its frustrating as a chelsea fan to keep having to hear THE SAME OLD negetave comments about us time and time again and i thought Walker could have at least tried to deflect the issue by changing the topic .

I agree Drogba is far from being alone at this but seems to be the only one constantly picked on for it. I also agree that Drogba while over dramatising the slightest contact at times at least there is contact.

When other players do that they are forgiven or even called clever or proffesional for 'looking for the foul',not Drogs.

Other players go down without any contact what so ever(which is just cheating), Torres is one Gerrard another. One thing you do notice about how bias the commentaters are on our tv is that they never pull up English players for doing it like Rooney or even our own Joe Cole.

I dont like any of it myself, and Drogba is twice the player anyway when he stands on his feet but it does anoy me when he gets singled out for doing something you would see 2-3 times in anymatch played by any team.

clubhappy I am with you on this. I expect our ex players to be more loyal. I don't recall Arse or Scouse ex players making public comments about their old team. Shut up if you can't say something nice, especially as we already have all the other radio pundits and old players running us into the ground at every opportunity.
