Shed End Wallpaper

Yeah, the original picture of the Luzhniki stadium wasn't big enough, so it won't scale well. I've got an idea how to (sort of) get around the problem...I'll see what I can do.

Try putting it in the middle of a 1024x768 blue background, then give the stadium some external light like you have on the CFC logo. That'll look great i reckon.

Hmmm...I did the wallpaper and I uploaded it into the gallery into the Chelsea in Europe section, but for some reason it doesn't show it in 1024 x 768 317.gif

Hmmm...apparently it does show it in 1024 x 768, but it compresses the image so it messes up the scanline pattern that I put in the background.

Aha...it's the filesize that's causing the problem. There's a 150 KB limit on uploaded images, it keeps it 1024 x 768, but it compresses the image, so it becomes a 150KB image and it doesn't look nice.

It's not just the thumbnail, it looks different on my computer. Well, as it compresses the filesize by 50%, it's bound to show in the image.

Could you please delete the images, I'll see if I can do the compression better with my photoshop, or if not, then I'll lose the scanline and then compress it into a 150 KB file.

Mod...when I click the properties on the image I uploaded, it says it's 150 KB, so the gallery has compressed the image when I uploaded it. I'll see if I can do the compression more smartly myself, before uploading. But if not, I'll try chucking out the scanline and see if I can get the filesize down to a 150 KB without messing it too much.

Could you please delete the two pictures I uploaded, please! 429.gif

I tried it again, and the gallery definitely does compress the file when I upload it. I did a more simple version without the scanlines and I compressed it down to 121 KB, which looked passable, although you could see some artifacts in the image resulting from the compression, but when I upload it to the gallery, it says it's under 100 KB(I think it was about 80 KB) and you can see the extra compression in the image. Not nice.

I uploaded the images(the simpler version and the original) under the titles "test upload" and "test upload 2" and both have been compressed from the original filesize and in both you can definitely see the compression. In the version with the scanlines, the original filesize was 331 KB and the uploaded version is 149.27 KB. The simpler version's original filesize is 121 KB, but in the gallery it is 83.06 KB.
