gustyheadhunter
im just sittin at half time and thought id throw this out for everyones consideration. now i dont want to start a worry session here cause i think we ave been spot on in the first 45 in fact we could ave been three up but there in lies my problem. taking drog out of the equasion do we really have enough up front? it seems to me that nic, kalou and malouda couldnt score in a lady of the nights residence with a pocket full of 50's. in fact it doesnt just SEEM to be the case cause i know it first hand from watchin week in week out. it makes me wonder at times if any trainin is being done specifically for the strikers because it dont look like it is. i can only hope that di santo gets a go and soon cause he couldnt be any worse. p.s if any of the above mentioned score in the next 45 ill eat my hat..... :D Edited September 13, 2008 by gustyheadhunter

PloKoon13
I agree, he has to do more than score once to prove himself. Although he's got 2 in 4 games now, as well as scoring a stack in pre-season.
High Street Ken
Anelka's always been a confidence player. This goal might kickstart his season, although 2 in 4 is fine by me. Once Deco works out what sort of service he requires, he'll get hatfulls.

TheWestwayWonder
Overall I am not sold on our strikeforce because of how weak it seems in actual ability. Anelka is coming good now, under Scolari's guideance, but I dont class him as the kind of forward we really need. He is doing the job for now, but can anyone not forsee a major revamp in the summer? Drogba potentially leaving, Anelka nearing 30? I like Kalou but he is lightweight and not suited to the role, and Di Santo is awful young. We need to blood him in, but for now im not thinking he is a solid 3rd option. Overall I wouldve been far more confident in us buying a Villa or a Huntelaar. Someone young and in form who, if Drogba or Anelka were to succumb to the nagging injuries 30ish players sometimes get, could step into the breach with known quality. I think Saviola is worth a punt. Call me crazy, but he would cost almost nothing to get, im sure, and given the right support he can score and score well. A small, snipey finisher would not only pick up the Drog's scraps, but make him a better player by drawing defenses away.
