Iceman
What the hell is wrong with Ricky Carvalho? On CTV tonight, Scolari said that he had no idea when Ricky would be back and that it could be days or even months. Went as far as to insinuate that the injury is in Ricky's head. So what is going on? Nothing official from the club. Is he another whose head is being turned by Inter or another club?

R Carvalho Thigh Muscle Strain 6th Dec 08 From Physio room...Seems odd though if Scolari is saying maybe months. We have got ample cover but I think on ability Ricky is our best defender, I'd hate for us to lose him although if there are plans to lower the overall age of the Squad It would leave us room to bring Mancienne on earlier than expected. geezer
Having seen how good Alex and Ivanovic have been when they've come in I'm not too overly concerned especially as we do indeed have young Michael waiting in the wings. I'm more concerned about how easily JT has been turned recently in some matches. Could that be as a result of his back injury?

JT has never been very fast imo, it's the one side of his defensive game that let's him down.

You're right in that JT is not very fast and that has never really been up for debate. I'm referring more to the fact that he's been turned by a striker when trying to shepherd him towards the sideline on more than one occasion this season and has been made to look very ordinary as a result. The Moos
JT has never been very fast imo, it's the one side of his defensive game that let's him down. True but JT have so far read the game so well that he hasn't really have to use much speed. Instead of running he's standing in the right place all the time. Now however he seems to have lost half of all his skills. Positioning is wrong, his decisions is wrong etc. JT has gone from being a world class leader and a world class defender to being average at both (had a few good games, but that's it).
