  1. I must admit. I'm beginning to warm up to the idea of Costa. Seems the best deal out there at the minute. Though its shouldn't come at the price of Courtois. Another player who keeps popping up here and there in the rumour mill is Hulk. But again, its another story that runs hot and cold. I don't particularly know much about Hulk if I'm honest. Though he looks like a beast. Anyone? Edit: just noticed a thread about Hulk, going to check that out..
  2. If you hated Saints Row 3, you'll absolutely detest 4 like I did! Dont even waste your time even Youtubing it. For the first time ever (never seen this happen before to be honest) the graphics of Saints Row 4 actually looked worse than the previous game. Then they added some silly alien plot and made the Saints leader president of the country. Utterly ridiculous. I played half hour of it, felt like I was regressing mentally, so made a call to a buddy who wanted to buy it and cut him a cheap deal for it. Wound up losing a tenner on it. But still more than what i would have got selling it to CEX. Yeah, I have been following the release trailers, promo videos from the devs etc since its released date was announced. You tried playing Thief? That game is incredible if you have the patience for it.
  3. I personally hope it doesn't affect Bayern. Even if they do draw us in the quarter finals of the CL. I want them to be at their best if we play them. No pride going against a depleted and dejected side in such a contest.
  4. Its such a shame. And by that, I mean that its a shame for his greed to cast a shadow over Bayern during such a great season for them. In regards to his comments about Roman, generally when people make such remarks, its usually a refraction of inner guilt for something they have done! It is in this instance. Germany does have a much stiffer judicial system to what we have over here. We're far too soft when it comes to jail sentences, so its natural for such a reaction over here. I'm confident he'll do his time. As somebody above suggested, as an example. He should never allowed near a football club again after this smear against his name.
  5. I agree, red in a Chelsea kit, is just odd. Still, can't be as terrible as that horrific tangerine and grey away kit we had in the 90s. I'm no fashion guru or in any way interested in it, but I'm fairly sure that kit was just bang out of order. I skipped buying an away kit for the 1 or 2 seasons we used that.
  6. I too think its fine to have a soft spot for teams abroad. As I said before, I follow Bayern. Great team. Though Chelsea will always be my primary club.
  7. I was just about to mention the Prototype games. So much fun I had on those, throwing people about. The ragdoll effect was infinite fun after a few beers.Only other game with similar powers was the awful Saints Row 4. Saints Row 1 and 2 were great, but the final 2 were ridiculous. Defo gonna get Infamous, so tempted to just say sod it and go buy it tommorow, but must prioritise. I hate being a responsible adult at times. Kinda miss being a kid and being able to spend money like there's no tomorrow.
  8. There must be some retention at least. We can't keep doing this. What is the point in investing in youngsters if all we do is flog them off and ship them off to other clubs? Surely there must be at least a couple diamonds in there that are ready to at least show us what they can do? I read somewhere that we have some 27 players out on loan. More than any other club.
  9. Well one thing is for sure, if they crash out next round, it puts Moyes in a very unenviable situation and I can't see them keeping RVP with no European prospects for next season. That would no doubt crumble Utd even further. History alone won't attract top class players if they have a pure domestic heads down season ahead.
  10. Well, at least he's getting time on the pitch. That'll help strengthen him after his recovery. I hope he shines out there and leaves us spoilt for choice come pre season. Who else is looking forward to seeing how our loanees and youngsters fare in pre season? I for one think it'll be interesting. Van Ginkel is definitely a player who intrigues me.
  11. Spain are a very very good side, but looking at the performances during the friendlies, Brazil showed an extra spark. Plus, you can just tell that there is a great vibe in their squad. That team spirit plus the home advantage will definitely be their 12th man on the pitch.
  12. Ahhh Infamous second son. That does look amazing. Although I am going to have to wait a few weeks to pick up a copy. Got boring stuff like bedding, curtains and a rug to splash out on :-/ Let me know how it it is, assuming you get it D.O.R.
  13. That is a very good point. I would relish a draw against Bayern. I think it would be a fantastic game and as you say, win or lose, it would have its positives. It would give us massive confidence if we beat Bayern. Confidence we could take back with us for our remaining Premiership fixtures. It would also be a huge statement for Arsenal, who couldn't beat them. Furthermore, if we did it without a prolific striker, imagine how we will be next season with that problem resolved. I'm happy we have reached the quarter finals anyway, so even if we do go out, we will have more steam to use in our domestic season. As you say, win/win. I do want Utd to draw Real and watrch them get a real good stuffing away and home. I love to see Utd crash out of competitions.
  14. Just to make sure people understand my point of view, I'm not saying that wearing other shirts affects your ability to Be a Chelsea fan, but on a personal level, its just not something I understand is all.
  15. I must admit, I only have one red t shirt (a Jackass shirt an ex bought for me as a birthday present). Never been a fan of the colour (maybe a subconscious thing?) but yeah, I have never worn any other team shirts, except for England, which doesn't count. Though I haven't owned an England top for years. Outgrew the classic ones I used to have from the Euro 96 and world cup 1994 and 1998 eras. Not liked any of the England shirts they've released since. They look awful, especially the current ones. Look plain and like a standard polo shirt, and at 50 quid upwards, I won't be buying. Seven Times, you are correct, that shirt was a beauty. I loved that one. I still remember queuing up outside the local sports shop on release day waiting to get that one. There are other team shirts I like the look of, but just couldn't bring myself to wear them. Wouldn't want to be mistaken for a fan of any other team.
  16. I think its unanimous. I predict the Brazilians lifting the trophy for the same reasons listed above. They've always had a strong squad. Spain and Germany are also up there for a possible upset win. England certainly won't win it. We have some good players but we lack cohesion and the team spirit shown by teams like Brazil. Plus we have too many selfish players.
  17. Haha sod that. I think I'd wear out an entire bar of soap after such an experience. Understandable though if it was the only option. Did you turn it inside out? :P
  18. I must admit, I've never heard of advanced rounds being drawn simultaneously. Plus, I love the mystery of not knowing who you're facing after a win. The draw is one of the most exciting parts of the tournament (to me at least).
  19. Touché. As far as I am aware, its just the quarters being drawn Friday. I assume the semis will be drawn separately once the return legs have played out. Though I could be wrong.
  20. Only thing boring to me is the generic anti Chelsea slogans used by Liverpool, Arsenal, and Utd fans. Usually involving Roman, alleged Russian blood money, buying success and boring football (in other words, they hate the fact that we have a solid back 4). The money thing always makes me laugh because doesn't every club spend money every season to attract decent players? So you could say that every club attempts to buy success every year when they spend money on that new striker or centre back.
  21. Though to be honest, they were up against some pretty poor opposition in Olympiacos. I was stunned that they got the two nil win over United in the first match anyway. Plus two of United's goals last night came from set pieces. United are desperate to save their season, but it doesn't mean they can overcome the big four in Real Madrid, Bayern Munich (who have been on massive unbeaten streak), Atletico Madrid and Barca. Especially when we've seen United lose to teams like Swansea, Stoke and Sunderland. Facts go against them progressing further. They got a lucky draw.
  22. Bit of a possible sore subject, but I'm interested in hearing peoples views on the subject. People who wear the colours of another team. I recently bumped into a friend I grew up with, who went to games with me and my brother and he was wearing a Crystal Palace home shirt. After asking what it was all about, he tells me that he is a Chelsea fan but also supports Palace, the team his wife supports. I know people have the right to like whatever they want, but personally, I never understood how people can support two professional teams in the same country. Especially if they play in the same division. I have always been a one club bloke and whilst I enjoy watching Bayern Munich every week on the Bundesliga roundup, I could never bring myself to wear another teams colours. Would feel a bit odd to me. I especially couldn't wear another English clubs colours. To me, that would almost be like cheating Haha. Its a bit of a unique debate and I am sure there are some valid points either way. Would be nice to see some views on this.
  23. I've been to Stoke a couple times... I've been to nicer areas I'll say that much.
  24. Oh definitely. Always nice to see us match up against different teams. Gives the tie a nice unpredictable edge. Kinda know what to expect from other possible ties. Plus I am a fan of Bundesliga, so it would be an enjoyable fixture for me.I really hope United get snuffed by Real or Atletico.
  25. Welcome Alistair, I'm Danny. I'm a newcomer here too. Sure you'll fit in just fine. Seems a good crowd on here.
