  1. Bit this thread can still serve as a place to discuss David Luis transfer speculation. Saves having a separate thread for every rumour about him... The alleged transfer request from him to PSG I find interesting. Especially after his performance last night.
  2. Unreal. Makes you wonder if they even follow football to make that much of a blunder. Gutter journalism. On a side note, I REALLY do not want Lukaku to go to Spurs. Bad enough we sent Mata to manure. Neither club would even consider selling us a player. Plus I am convinced that Rooney and Utd led us up the garden path for his attempted signing to deliberately stop us signing a striker. They knew we put all our eggs in one basket.
  3. This is interesting. . . http://app.caughtoffside.com/?referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.co.uk%2Furl%3Fsa%3Dt%26rct%3Dj%26q%3Ddavid%2520luiz%26source%3Dweb%26cd%3D1%26sqi%3D2%26ved%3D0CCoQqQIwAA%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.caughtoffside.com%252F2014%252F04%252F02%252Fchelsea-star-david-luiz-informs-club-he-wants-psg-transfer%252F%26ei%3DYMI8U5C_G6Ky0QX4g4DwCQ%26usg%3DAFQjCNE75pgA89zDEEjPmXc0rvr5_0rh8g%26sig2%3Do0UnabNaP7eFTzA9hmZXeQ%26bvm%3Dbv.63934634%2Cd.d2k#article/caughtoffside-215354
  4. David Luis played like an utter clown. He practically gifted them that second goal. Not only caused the free kick to begin with, but tucked it in for them aswell. Then the whole fiasco on the touchline with Cavani which got him booked. Then mouthing off at the official. He was lucky not to have seen a red for dissent. Rash isn't a strong enough word to describe him. He just doesn't think. I do hope we find a buyer for him this summer now Barca is out of the question. He's incapable as a centre back and what a showing he made for himself in midfield tonight. As I said before, it isn't impossible for us to turn this around at the Bridge, but with the deficit and the threat of them pouring forward for away goals next week, its going to be more difficult than it should have been. Our home record goes in our favour thankfully.
  5. Oh, and on the other end of the scale, Chris Sutton, the 15 million pound flop. Was happy when he signed, but facepalming when I realised what a blunder we made in paying for him. He only managed one goal for us before we let him go didn't he? Most expensive goal ever.
  6. I remember that goal. I remember turning to my brother and commenting how it went in like a cannon ball. Was an incredible volley. As for my answer, so many to pick from. Old school days, Ruud Gullit, 'Franco Zola and Gianluca Vialli all had me excited when they signed. Marcel Desailly gave me a huge grin when he signed too. Another player that gave me that wow factor (can't believe nobody has mentioned him so far), Arjen Robben. Seeing him play against Utd the other night was good to see. He was outstanding for München.
  7. That game gave me an aversion to Anfield which has stuck with me to this day.
  8. Tell me about it. Losing 5 - 1 is bad enough, but to Liverpool? Was a very depressing day. Yes, the one where he scored an own goal and Berger got a brace. I remember us scoring the penalty at the end. The unenthusiastic groan from our end pretty much summed the whole day up.
  9. Hahahahaha unbelievable. How do these marketing geniuses keep their jobs? Hilarious.
  10. So this is a two way ban? Nobody leaves Barca either? Bit crap for the players if they were planning to leave next summer. Glad Barca have been penalised though. I've always thought there was something shady about them. Now..... I look forward to seeing how FFP gets enforced. Seems we're one of very few clubs adhering to it at the moment, which is outrageous.
  11. If someone attempts to slide tackle him and he does his swan dive routine again we will... for all the wrong reasons.

I play with a combination of Hazard, Oscar, Schweinsteiger and Willian on the wings in alternating pairs to prevent fatigue, Mario Götze or a youth player of 91 overall in CAM, Robert Lewandowski, Mario Mandzukic, a promoted youth player of 94 overall and Diego Costa up front. I interchange them in different pairings to prevent fatigue and its quite the strike force.
  13. Exactly, win, lose or draw, I'll always be a Chelsea man. But yes, David Luis and Ramires tonight were dreadful. Shame Matic was cup tied. We could have done with his presence. Lavezzi absolutely blew my mind. His goal was a stonker. Their whole team just drips with quality. I knew they would be a hard side to beat, but even in saying that, I grossly underestimated them. Thoroughly deserving winners tonight.
  14. I don't think its a case of not following instructions. I think its a case of players being expected to play a very different game to what they're used to. Especially Schürrle. Plus our wingers were switched at times aswell I noticed. Instinct can be a powerful thing. That's why its not always a good thing to play the same shape and allow players to get stuck in their ways. As a team, we should be switching it up to match opponents' strengths and weaknesses. Leave them guessing more.
  15. I noticed that aswell. But you can't really blame Schürrle. When you hold a position for so long and get the positioning drilled into you, its hard to break that habit when you're suddenly expected to switch to an entirely new role. I can see why he did back track. Was his instincts and we needed him there instead of Oscar or Ramires if I'm honest. But it did leave a massive wide open space up the field, which should have been taken advantage of on a few occasions.
  16. We're not even a shadow of that side at the moment. We hold a solid back line usually, but as soon as it gets to midfield, the move breaks down. We spend more time back passing than we do moving forward and when we do move forward, its always down a flank and teams are now cottoning onto that fact. We're too predictable and I hate to say it, but our entire midfield and attack always looks to Hazard for direction. The pressure on that lads shoulders must be immense.
  17. Couldn't agree more. I got sucked into that false position a little too much. Now I realise what a mountain we have to climb on all fronts now. Its not impossible, but its certainly a lot steeper than it was a few weeks ago. I think we need two class midfielders, because David Luis and Ramires just aren't cutting it anymore and we need TWO strikers. Not one. I think our formation needs work aswell because teams are starting to work it out now. Did you see how easily PSG were passing between the gaps? It was a kick about for them most of the second half.
  18. I'd love this to be true but we don't have many options at the moment do we? I don't think Ba can play every game full 90 and Eto'o is still on the table, plus I don't know how many home games we have left, but he is a home player. I don't think we will be seeing Torres next season, at least I hope not. Send him on loan for a season at least. Sick of the sight of him to be honest. He's just really lazy and doesn't even seem to try anymore. Maybe he'd be best off retiring. Don't think he'll have much choice after his contract runs out. Don't think clubs will be queueing up to sign him, not clubs of a top quality, and lower league clubs wouldn't even entertain the thought of taking on his wage bill.
  19. If that is true about Chelsea fans causing trouble tonight in Paris, then this is embarrassing. I hope anybody causing trouble gets dealt with by the French authorities. Just what the club needs, bad press. Supposed to be respectful when going abroad. Thanks to whomever posted that interview. Jose looks massively disappointed. Hurt almost.
  20. I'm trying to be optimistic too. But with the class in that PSG side, we are going to need the roar of the bridge to spur the team on. We cannot concede!! Vital.
  21. If you find the video PM me a link please. I turned it off at full time because I couldn't bear watching anymore.
  22. Couldn't have said it better myself. There's a difference between having a passive interest in a club and being a supporter. Its natural to be p****d off when the team plays bad and I will say it as it is if we do play bad. Same goes when the opposition play amazing, like PSG tonight. Their defence closed us down every time, their midfield were always pressing us in pairs and their forwards were on the ball. I'm not going to sit here and say Chelsea played well because I would be lyimng out my backside. I don't expect to be reading stroppy posts from people insulting other forum members either.
  23. Agreed. I don't even rate Rooney anyway. He wouldn't fit at this club. I personally think there was more to that transfer fiasco to be honest. But I won't go into that now.
  24. Yorkleyblue. . . flukey goal? What planet are you on? Pastore worked like hell to get that goal and it was an absolute beaut. Insulting people on an internet forum isn't on at all. I don't think people value your input by the sounds of it. Carrying on like a stroppy 15 year old... Oh and before you call me a glory hunter new fan, I've been following the club 26 years. Not that it matters anyway...
  25. It doesn't matter if Ibrah is out, look at their squad depth. Pastore, what a class player he was. Only on for a few minutes and scored an absolute belter. Levazzi was stunning aswell.
