Raynes Park Blue got a reaction from Jezz in Vintage Blues pictures and filmMate of mine played against Micky Droy when at the very end of his career he turned out for Kingstonian. Apparantly he had bandages on both knees, could hardly run, yet scored two goals from set pieces. He was so big and strong, if the ball was delivered accurately you couldn't stop him at that level.
Always reminded me a bit of Bluto from Popeye.
Ps Peter Osgood put one on him once according to his book

Raynes Park Blue reacted to Boyne in Vintage Blues pictures and filmTalking of scousers and shell suits some guys I know went to Anfield a few years ago - it might have been the 4-1 game. The drove up. On reaching Liverpool they pulled into a garage to fill up with petrol. A scouser in a Lamborghini drove into the gagage; got out of the car. And yes, he was wearing a shell-suit. They pissed themselves laughing.
After they game, they went into one of the Working Mens's Clubs. There was a raffle. They entered the raffle. Their tickets were pulled out. They had given false names: D Drogba, W Gallas and J Terry etc. Took a while for the guy calling the raffle as to what was going on.

Raynes Park Blue got a reaction from bazzablue in Vintage Blues pictures and filmRemember the game at Anfield- morning kick off with everyone wearing the Chelsea- Rangers bobble hats. In the Anfield Rd end segregation wasn't great- all their young men seemed to all arrive at the same time- snarling away whilst donning those ridiculous Peter Storm kagooles. They may lay claim to the originators of casual but they didn't carry it off particularly well

Raynes Park Blue reacted to bazzablue in Vintage Blues pictures and filmAlmost brought a tear to my eye seeing the old souvenir shop. I bought so much stuff there especially as a kid. Mind you the last thing i remember buying there was a video of the 88-89 season which was in a plain white video box and wrapped in a brown paper bag. I was getting so many dodgy looks on the tube home i stuffed it into my jacket.
