I wanna give him at least another season before I make up my mind about Ole. I wanna see what next season can bring if he gets the players he want that will suit his tactical approach. We didn't try to play our way up from defense like we've been doing lately. So he might go for some central defender that's comfortable with the ball and knows how to pass. Kind of the opposite to Smalldini which I hope gets toenjoy his final years in Italy. Yeah you guys didn't get to buy any players, but imo had a stronger team to begin with. And regarding injuries, we had Rashford and Poobag out of the team for quite some time. Prior to Fernandes and Greenwood breaking through that made us a whole lot weaker. 66 points is laughable, no question about it. But as you say, luckily enough to get us into next seasons CL.

Yeah, never thought he could have such an impact. That along with Leicester f**king everything up since the new year saved our season. Regarding DDG and Henderson I don't know what's the best solution. I'd let them fight it out over the next season since it feels a bit early to say if Henderson is up for the challenge and if DDG will continue to decline or rediscover his old self. Matic was probably extended to allow other areas to be strengthened first. Prone to errors if overused though, so I hope we can find a solution for rotation.

Well at least 3rd will take us back to the CL ? If someone said to me back around new year that we'd finish 3rd I would've laughed my ass of and told him to quit the jazz tobacco. Can't say I'm impressed with how we've played, but I've seen some promising glimpses every now and then. With some new additions I think both us and you can close the gap on sh*tty and Liverpoop. But I think we both need more than one season to mount a realistic challenge with so many areas that needs improvement and lacking the quality in squad depth. You guys have done some brilliant additions with Werner, Ziyech and probably Havertz. But I don't think you guys lack firepower, what about that defence? I hope you guys beat Arse in the cup final. Seriously doubt Auba will stay next season without even getting to play in the Europa league. They'll have to strengthen with some young talents hoping they actually make it. Could be a rough couple of years for them having to fight Burnley and Everton for players and position in the league...

And that's where they should inform the ref and tell him to take a closer look at the screen...

Gotta agree that VAR have been quite dodgy this season... yeah both the incident yesterday and the Fernandes pen vs Villa were wrong decisions. I'm quite sure we would've spanked Villa anyway, but we didn't look sharp yesterday so who knows what would've happened if CP got a pen. In the Soton game the Romeu ankle breaker vs Greenwood wasn't even reviewed (which imo was about as red as they come) and also a sliding challenge vs Martial that ended up with studs on the knee one or two games prior to the Southampton one wasn't reviewed either. VAR needs to become more consistent and a screen for the ref to watch for possible penalties or red cards just might have to become a thing like it is in the CL.

Lingard was perhaps a gamble, that didn't pay off. Cant even remember a singe really dangerous opportunity for Liverpoo so we must've done something right today. About Smalling, he was offside so nothing to whine about there...

We didn't have one decent chance prior to those two goals Us going through to the next stage and Liverpool going to EL seems possible and would be one of the few highlights of this season... That's my expectations of this season

I doubt there's many of us who was expecting him to come to us though... From what I could tell on redcafe, most people seemed kind of fed up with the saga and doing a documentary where he said he'll be staying is just cringeworthy

They still have Bobo, Chuckles and so on in the back. They've soon added three names in the midfield with a cost of ~150 million do far... Wonder what they're thinking about the clowns in the back. It'll be a new season with the same issues

Have to give Liverpoo thumbs up for the Fabinho deal. Not a word out there until 1-2 hours ahead of it being official, they're gonna look solid from the midfield and up next season... But they still have Bingo, Bobo, Chuckles, Coco and Binky in the defense. I honestly kind of feel the same about us (bar DDG), but from the rumours at least we're looking at those positions. By looking at the reactions from the Porto fans, we seem to be doing a nice job getting their young RB...
