Little bit late to change the premise for the killer goal/amazing assist now, isn't it? Out of curiosity, what player could you realistically see replacing him (on same wages and happy to be on the bench most of the time, but sans missed sitters, footballing brain, etc etc). icecoolguy22 sums it up pretty well for me.

I'll give you that he can be an immensely frustrating player, however.. he has had decent games, and especially when he comes on as a sub against tired feet. If it was the choice between having him or Aguero/Silva/any other world class player in the starting line-up, we would make the same choice, but as a sub... Kalou gets way too much flak in my opinion. He might not be Drogba MKII, but he's a very valuable squad player.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the CL, but after seeing all those mickey mouse refereeing decisions (and I'm not just talking about Frisk and Ovrebro.. since I started watching in 2004, there have been quite a few game changing decisions nothing short of Monty Python's Flying Circus), the excitement at the prospect of winning the CL just hasn't been the same for me. Premier League all the way.

When I first heard that Carlo would be getting the job here I couldn't help being excited, hoping we'd get a manager who would stay with us for years to come, and bring us exciting, beautiful football against top teams, much like I had seen his Milan team do with Utd in the CL back in 2007.. Even now I hope he stays with us for years to come. In my opinion he needs support to mold the team as he sees fit. Just my two cents, been a lurker here for a while and have the utmost respect for the opinions of the posters here. p.s. sorry for my broken English
