  1. Bang on! It doesn't matter City and Utd spent a bit more money than us. We still have plenty/enough cash and à big enough attraction to sign real quality and Rudi apart, we spent a shedload on a pile of cack. That is what made the difference. Anyway, I have my fingers and toes crossed that the rumours of Sarri and Zola are true. That would be such an exciting partnership and give the club the boost it needs.
  2. Well, David Mellor watches Chelsea and Fulham. In his younger days, Bruce Forsythe used to watch Arsenal and Spurs.
  3. Thanks for posting that interesting development. The way things have gone, if that was a serious offer, i'm surprised Roman didn't bite the guys hand off. We all know Roman has never played ball with the media, but this is an extremely important time in the history of Chelsea FC. Can he for once come out and tell everyone wtf is really going on!!! No other club would let things fester the way we are doing.
  4. No weakness in midfield at all imho. Poor keeper and centre forward were the crucial weak links in an otherwise truly fantastic team. Even so, that day against Italy, was still just one of those days when the sporting gods went against them. A 40 year keeper having one of his greatest ever days and the ball falling at the feet of desperately out of form Rossi, who suddenly sprang to life. Having said that, Italy improved greatly after that match and went on to become great champs of s truly great World Cup.
  5. They hired Jose, knowing he was against everything their football ever stood for. He went on to single handedly ruin the classic RM vs Barca games and turned them into scrappy, ugly affairs. Most RM fans were glad to see the back of him.
  6. Not the squad to play Sarriball? Overnight, Wenger, changed the style of play at Arsenal. Its not like we have a squad of donkeys who can't trap a medicine ball. Bakayoko lacks the technical ability and speed of thought to play that way, but most of the others could adapt with sufficent time on the training ground.
  7. This!!! There was a 'financial expert' on the radio saying the plans, cost and time away from the Bridge never added up to make sense. He was certain new plans could be drawn up to build a bigger stadium at a much lower cost and with no need to move away. A 50-52,000 capacity would be fine imho. However, I would like to see us have a bigger pitch.
  8. I must admit I have never heard of Horan, but I'm very much in favour of any manager who plays the kind of football his teams play! Anyone but Blanc!!!!!
  9. Say what you like about Mears (he was a **** imho) but. Bates worked his ass off for years trying to save the club from dying! Not a pot to piss in. Developers hovering over our heads. Slum stadium. Notorious, racist, scummy fans that turned a well liked club into a hated one. Attendance's falling to alltime lows. He (and the board) devised a longterm plan to bring in serious investment that would totally transform the club. He did just that and the rest is history!
  10. Let's be fair! Some of them do genuinely have "insiders" at clubs who give them genuine info. The Times is not exactly a rent-a-rag like The Star.
  11. The Times is reporting he'd want his billion quid back if he quits Chelsea...EEEK!!!!!
  12. Nothing is ever predictable or boring at Chelsea, which adds something extra to the club, but this is a worrying development! It looks like we are now many years away from having a bigger stadium and we'll fall further and further behind our main rivals in terms of revenue. We'll struggle to compete for the top trophies if things are not sorted.
  13. Hello! Sadly, i dont think Conte will change the way we play, no matter which players we sign during the summer. He's another Jose [probably even worse] just goes from one match to another sending out his team to try and squeeze out some kind of positive result. Against any good team we park the bus, home or away. Rely on them missing chances or not playing well. The final straw form me was him basically saying to his players that they are not good enough to compete with Man City, so they went out, played with fear and did nothing more than try to keep the score down. Embarrassing and simply not acceptable! We won the flipping FA Cup, yet i got precious little joy watching that dire excuse for a football match. We look a million miles away from City and Liverpool and do not deserve to be successful playing the way we are. We desperately need a manager that instills real confidence in his players and sends them out to play with respect for all opposition, but to play without fear, home and away.
