I doubt that sort of finishing will last long. Once he's got his first he'll be off and away.

I watched him for a while in Germany, if there is anything that describes Werner it is clinical. The guy scores virtually every chance he gets in his career to date. Obvs the PL is a different beast but I doubt you need to worry about his finishing.

Thought Werner was absolutely amazing for you guys against Liverpool, has all the attributes you want in a forward. When he clicks with Pulisic/Havertz/Ziyech you have an elite frontline.

I don't understand how that doesn't make sense to you.

We shall see, I always thought of him as a solid professional and although I never saw him as your star man he was always a good player in and around the squad, I feel as though he's going to be similar here. Of course if he skies a sitter against Sp*rs then I'll have to take it all back and call him sh!t

Seeing lots of 4th etc place finishes. Not sure you guys realise how good the players you've signed are, honestly. I can see you getting second with a challenge for the league as long as the signings gel quickly.

I agree, I think Chelsea are definitely in the mixer for the league this year. While Pool seem dominant they have a trash bench and a serious injury to one of Salah/Mane and you wonder where the goals are coming from. City are ageing and need a major overhaul despite bringing in Torres who looks excellent. I think for you guys it all boils down to how Pulisic recovers from his injury and gels with the other excellent signings you've made, but given they're all intelligent and physically capable I don't think that's an issue. The only worry for me is Ziyech looks a tad lightweight, so if he manages to hit the gym then your frontline looks to be the best in the league now.

Is there an announcements thread I'm missing? Newbie here! I'm a gooner (pls no hate) but also a massive fan of Lampard from his playing days and I love the squad he's building at Chelsea. Chelsea are also my local club so always had a soft spot for them and glad to see you guys are going in the right direction. For me your best signing of the window has been Werner, seems to be a big upgrade on Abraham. Looks to be an Aguero/Vardy hybrid in playstyle and will bang the goals in for you.
