There in lies the rub. He’s a goalkeeper but not a very good one and certainly not one that’s good enough, I feel, for Chelsea competing to win the PL. Your premise ; "Oh no, that's too much, and I will be a disappointment?" , makes the assumption that I’m good enough in the first place to do the job for which you’ve employed me - I don’t object to anyone reaching for the stars, but you have to be able to back it up, I believe that Kepa’s issues are all to do with his level of ability, time and time again he is found wanting. In spite of your assertions otherwise, I would never take a job that I know is out of my depth and then have to deal with the consequences when I’m found out, many might, Kepa certainly did, but I wouldn’t. I’ve said many times that it’s not his fault that some fool from Chelsea said he was good enough and paid 70m for him, but I can’t help but feel that he knew his limitations and that he took the job under false pretences.

?? do you imagine his ‘shoulder injury’ is real or a face saving exercise ? I sorta feel sorry for him then I remember that he came to Chelsea under false pretences, I feel, and signed a 7 year contract @ almost 200k a week, every week for 7 f**king years !! My sympathies evaporate at this point - don’t wish him bad, just wish him gone.

Football has become the slave of the statisticians, technology, high def resolution tv etc than can document everything and anything down to the nth degree and from several angles. Softly, softly, catchie monkey ! It wasn’t one for the neutrals that’s for sure, but from our perspective, it’s the second consecutive game without conceding (and scoring) - and let’s remember we‘ve played two decent sides in Sevilla and the mancs in manc land. Mendy, Azpi, Silva, Zouma (he still frightens me at times !!), Chilwell and James played great together with Mendy and Silva MOTM contenders - think Mendy shades it for me after all the weeks of sh*tting myself every time the ball was heading anywhere goal-wards when Kepa was between the jumpers. Lots to be positive and hopeful about with the defensive unit - really liking the way James is coming on, he could be special - I knew that in the James v James matchup there would only be one winner ! The rest definitely needs work, quite a lot of work, but if FL and co. can relax a little about the defence then the work gets focused on tinkering with the midfield and attack . And remember, we had a stone f**king wall penalty that those contriving VAR cu*ts at Stockley Park and the ref on the pitch CHEATED us out of !! Finally, don’t know what Kovacic needs to do to get a game - he’s by far our most capable ball playing and creative midfielder - Answers on a postcard please ?

Well I dunno about on fire , but he’s defo doing what you expect a competent , capable keeper to do - that what’s the problem with Kepa, he’s not capable or competent at this level .
