Koulibaly was probably the best replacement we could get for Rudiger for his price. Clearly not as good as Rudiger but for 30m it's the best we could do. Personally I would have rather given Colwill and Ampadu a chance.

Yeah that's fair. I admit it's more that I'm bitter that we've sacked Tuchel rather than any negativity towards Potter. When we kick off at Salzburg I'll be 100% behind him. I still think it's an outrage that Boehly stabbed a manager in the back that stood by us at our lowest point on top of winning the Champions League. The results weren't even that disasterous to justify it. Tuchel looked like our first chance in ages to really build a long term project and we sack him after a mediocre couple of months with the club in turmoil. What are we going to to with Potter when he inevitably has a bad patch?

Point is when Brighton aren't scoring much more than they'd be expected to (around 15th-16th), then I'm not sure how he is suddenly going to turn Chelsea into a free scoring side in a way that Tuchel couldn't.

This is exacltly it though, the likes of Ziyech and Pulisic are awful and yet Tuchel gets the blame for it. There's almost 0 games where we haven't created more chances than our opponents, our forwards just waste them all. Are people going to turn on Potter once he inevitably gets let down as well? All season has been 6 games, the new signings haven't been given a chance to gel in yet. If we were adrift of top 4 in Decemeber I'd understand it, but 6 games in where we've got 10 points is hardly a disaster.

This is a good sign. The thing I liked most about us under Tuchel was how well we played agains the top sides, even if the football against the lower teams wasn't as good.

I think Sarri's football at Chelsea overshadowed how good his Napoli side were. At the time Napoli were playing some of the most attractive football in Europe. That was the general consensus in the footballing world as well. Most people, including myself didn't see him as an upgrade on Conte though. Even in Potter's best season at Brighton they were 15th in the league in goals scored. People were complaining about Tuchel not being attacking enough, how is this guy going to be any better. Not to mention it's a completely different story playing attractive football with Brighton compared to playing attractive football against a 10 man bus week in week out in a 60 game season like Tuchel had to deal with. I hope Potter can pull it oof but I have my doubts

It's more becuase we've sacked a world class manager for an unproven one. Nobody had anything against Lampard coming here when the job was vacant (though he is a club legend to be fair).

So what's the list of cups and titles Potter's won then? The Swedish second division? I don't think Potter's unqualified for the Chelsea job becuase he's English. I'm saying it because his current list of accomplishments in English football are finishing 10th in the Championship with a recently relegated Swansea, then finishing 15th, 16th and 9th with Brighton. Hardly a stunning resume is it.

Media likes to stir up rumors but if this is true Boehly's a clown. And to think I was actually excited when he became owner given his success with the Dodgers.

Sarri nearly broke Juventus's ten year dominance of Serie A on 1/10th of their budget, whilst playing some of the most beautiful football in Europe. Wasn't overrated at all when we brought him. For the record I love it when top English youngsters come through at Chelsea, my point it Potter is seemingly being overhyped by the media at least somewhat because of his nationality. He's only two years younger than Tuchel yet hasn't achieved anything close. Obviously I hope Potter is a success here, and I do think he is a very decent manager, just doesn't feel like someone worth sacking Tuchel over.

Evidence of English players/managers being protected/overrated? Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Gareth Southgate and Steve Bruce off the top of my head. The same also applies to former club legends regardless of nationality, like Ole at Man United

He's being overhyped through the roof because he's English. Chances are if we're floundering in the Europa League spots the media will protect him at every corner as well. Can't wait
