September 10, 20223 yr The Queens funeral is Monday the 19th at 11AM. Am grateful they did not wait one more day and put it on my birthday lol... The football league games are scheduled to go ahead for the weekend, the PL have yet to comment if the Friday- Sunday games will Go ahead. The government only asked sporting events to be postponed on the day of the funeral. The royal family nor government did not ask for the games this weekend, nor for next weekend, to be postponed. It is up the the 20 clubs and the league, as it was for this weekend.
September 10, 20223 yr Imagine the boo’s from the Scousers in the minutes silence! I reckon it’ll be postponed again until after!

That will sadly most likely happen, the booing I mean. Most scousers really are sc*m. But after Hillsborough, Hysal and Paris last year maybe they can top themselves again...

It still boggles the mind how these lot are the favorites of the football bodies and people in power, and media. Where are the away fans these days? Lower tier, maybe someone can get our upper tier fans to take a piss on them.

And then the pundits will put it down to fans “in general” booing, if not straight down to us. My guess is that the game will get postponed due to all the people (and politicians and heads of state) travelling down to London for the funeral and that. But then again, I thought they would not postpone this weekend’s and do the next weekend’s, so it may go ahead.

It'll be like the time they boo'd the anthem at Wembley all over again! The media will have another field day!

I had to tell the it was the scouse lot exclusively.

To be fair it's not a scouse thing, it's a Liverpool thing, Everton fans don't behave like that, we can't lump them in with the real twats. Liverpool fans are the only ones, and they aer not all scousers as we know.

And as @RMH said you just know it will mainly be blamed on us, forcing a club public apology for distressing the nation and our Liverpool "guests", and us then taking the blame for what happened at Hillsborough as well etc etc...
September 11, 20223 yr The PL have a big problem. Logistically next weekend all the London police will be on duty for the viewing period of her majestys body. So our game plus Spurs vs Leicester and Brentford vs Arsenal are at big risk of being postponed because of this. Talks are underway about it, with suggestions to switch the away side to be at home, however the would still leave Brentford and Arsenal up sh*t creak without a paddle. Liverpool and Leicester are very reluctant to accept this idea as well as making plans on short notice is also a hard ask. The other 6 games should go ahead as planned. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2022/9/10/23346251/concerns-over-staging-next-weekends-premier-league-matches-in-london-as-well " But as The Athletic’s report details, the three that are set to take place in London on Saturday and Sunday (Spurs v Leicester, Brentford v Arsenal, Chelsea v Liverpool) have very little logistical chance of happening. Evidently, discussions are even taking place about switching home and away teams, and playing the reverse fixtures now instead, but doing something like that presents all sorts of different and equally difficult challenges — staffing, sporting, scheduling, etc. And in the case of Brentord v Arsenal, the reverse fixture would also be in London, so that doesn’t help." Not exactly what you suggested but I do wonder if the powers that be would be discussing a behind closed doors option. Do they still need police presence of their are no fans there?

September 11, 20223 yr Shouldn't the queen's or now kings guard be policing the body? That is there job, solves the policing issue straight away.

You’ve got all the crowds coming to London, also politicians and (possibly) other heads of states, personalities, etc. It didn’t make sense to cancel this weekend but I could kind of understand next weekend.
