World Cup 2026
I would be careful about signing another French defender, we have enough dodgy ones we can’t sell.

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
That is the only way to make him work. Problem though is he will insist on playing in the front 3, which creates another issue. I don’t think he is compatible with Palmer.

Alejandro Garnacho - Now moved to Villa!
Enrique and Enzo Fernandez? You are having a laugh. You don’t spend £120m on a player to bench them, and he isn’t starting ahead of Vitinha, Neves or Ruiz. He is a SS masquerading as a DLP.

Alejandro Garnacho - Now moved to Villa!
€5m loan with a €35m mandatory offer to buy. Don’t know why our lot are setting a £50m demand for an overseas transfer.

Random Rumours
To where? Unless you are loaning him out to a PL team, you are effectively demoting him. Tell you what, not buying the Diogo Costa rumours. He is another Jorge Mendes client and has been trying to sell him for big money for the last 3 seasons. Last year he was City bound.

Not sold on Lacroix. Find it odd we never tried signing Ake, who left for Fenerbache for £7m, or Akanji who City are trying to sell to Inter for €15m. I just don’t see how Lacroix is more experienced or better than the aforementioned players. I still insist that Lacroix, just like Wharton benefits massively from playing in a 3-4-3 in transition. That Palace side has conceded over 50 goals in the last 3 seasons.

Random Rumours
Aren’t we moving the post a bit here? Courtois joined at 19yrs, and was starting for Atletico Madrid a top 3 La Liga team. Penders is 20yrs; and there is an acknowledgment by the club that the longer he stays out on loan, the greater the risk of detachment from his parent club. He isn’t going to go out on loan for the next 3yrs. Club should have left him out on loan for next season, but as usual they have jumped the gun. The only alternative is to sell low, and attach a buyback + sell on clause. PS. Where did this sudden love for Diogo Costa come from? We were linked with him 3yrs ago, and everyone said No! Brilliant shot stopper, good with his feet, but bad with catching crosses.

Do we need a new goalie without giving Penders a chance? Would be way back in my priorities

Seems Arsenal are signing Morgan & Guimaraes. Our lot were talking about Villa asking for too much money, but I think wages is the real problem.

World Cup 2026
Will be interesting to see how he is used by Jose with Mbappe. People keep forgetting he hit 19 league goals in his first season at Madrid, before he was pulled deeper when they signed Mbappe. This is why I find it insane that Enzo & Pastore are desperate for him to go to Madrid. To play where?

Alejandro Garnacho - Now moved to Villa!
Sorry but they are both crap, and moves that should never happened

Andrey Santos Signs for Chelsea
Thing with Wharton is there is no incentive to coming to Chelsea. He is already in London, Palace can give him the £150k/w he will get here, they have Europa league next season, and most importantly he isn’t tied into a ridiculous 6yr contract if he wants out.

Wharton isn’t happening.

Andrey Santos Signs for Chelsea
"Sunderland has been my home since day one. We are all very happy. I've decided to stay where I am; the most important thing is family. I'm ready to make history with them." The Xhaka move is definitely off, so no idea what we are trying to do. Still don’t understand why they bought Essugo; we bought Amougu in Jan, sold him in the summer to sign Essugo. He was profiled by Maresca as backup to Caicedo which is just brainless IMO.

Jesse Derry
Signed a contract extension, and gone on a season long loan at Sporting Lisbon. Presumably as a direct replacement for Quenda. Would have preferred a PL loan to Lamp’s Coventry, or even the championship. You would think the club requested game time guarantee.

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
“Enzo Fernandez's agent Javier Pastore will talk to Chelsea after the World Cup to try to understand what solution could be best for all parties. The contract is still a problem between Chelsea and Enzo.” He won’t sign a £250k/w contract, club knows if they even give him that Caicedo & Palmer will demand parity. What gives?

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Didn’t we need to hit that £700m-£750m revenue mark because of the new Squad Cost Ratio (SRC) regulations, which means we are only allowed to spend 85% of our total revenue on wages, amortisation, transfers and agent fees? Our 2024/25 wages + amortisation figure was £572m, second in the league to City at £578m. That is why I think anyone expecting any big signing this season (comes with big wages) will be in for a disappointment. That is why I find talks of Wharton & Morgan Rogers hilarious. You are right though, they desperately need CL footy this season (personally can’t see it), need to sell quite a few duds (market limited to PL?) and probably why they have gone cap in hand to HP for a FOS sponsorship.

World Cup 2026
Was thinking they had no ball carrier, and the 38yr old has popped out at RW causing havoc.

Andrey Santos Signs for Chelsea
Market has changed though; unless you find a PL buyer for a £100k/w flop, he will sit out the remaining 5yrs. The Saudi exit is done, Bundesliga won’t touch it, Serie A love a loan deal and bar the 3 top teams in La Liga.
-
Josh Acheampong
No European football, duds like Badiashille, Tosin wont leave so Alonso will be forced to play them to keep their value up.
-
Josh Acheampong
Anywhere but here to honest. He isn’t going to game time here, and if he is smart needs to be handing a transfer request.
-
Andrey Santos Signs for Chelsea
I am not disputing that, my point is if he flops we are stuck with him. Teams would rather gamble on the next big thing out of Bundesliga than pay a fee for a Garnacho
-
Andrey Santos Signs for Chelsea
Are you sure? How do you explain bumping Palestra from €5k/w to £100k/w? If he flops, he is stuck here for the next 6yrs because he is literally an unknown outside Serie A.

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
Blows my mind. The whole Blue Co group is a mess. Strasbourg got fined €13m by UEFA last week also for violating the rules. They don’t have a manager, and have just lost their assistant manager

Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
Think they actually banked on selling him this summer, well making one big sale. There was that note in our annual reports that they anticipated revenue of £700m+ this year, with player sales contributing £250m. So far they have banked £50m from the Cucurella sale. They need to find £200m+ from somewhere before the window closes. That is why they are inviting offers, but so far only Chalobah & Andrey Santos have suitors.
