Fee is laughable, no one is paying that amount. The best they can hope for is loan with option to buy. To put the fee in perspective, Bayern signed Germany’s LB Nathaniel Brown for £25m in the summer.

Forbes reports says the average football club is worth 5.6 its revenue, seems they are using the revenue from the World Club Cup windfall to pad the valuation. Liverpool on the other hand who own their stadium is valued at £4.4b for the Bezos investment. I reckon the real value is around the £2.5b they paid in 2022 using our £490m 24/25 revenue figure.

I feel they have made a mess of the squad planning. Normally when you appoint a manager, you have to choose one who can maximise the talent in your squad. Alonso has come in and seems to be set on playing a 3-4-3 formation. Problem is we have 4 wingers in Estevao, Neto, Gittens & Quenda who are more comfortable playing in a 4-3-3. Quenda is an interesting one, because one of the reasons he opted for Chelsea instead of Utd is because he didn’t want to play as a WB. Out of those 4, the only one comfortable playing as a WB is Neto. If we sell him, we will be left with Palestra, Chavarria, and depending on what happens with Gusto as our WB options. Presently I am struggling to see a pathway to regular first team football for Estevao in a 3-4-3, and I don’t see him Brazil’s wonder kid hanging around past next summer if he isn’t playing.
