  1. English style of play (like Chelsea) has pace and strength, where you are able to use your short wings and plot some great headers/tap in's. Barcelona produces accurate-passes and penetrating football while allowing ample space around the ball at Camp Nou. Stamford has very thin comfort space for sure, and Barcelona will need a lot more ball concentration in midfield and counter wing crosses at the back, although the forward bit could serve as an advantage for us. Not too much of a concern though imo.
  2. Tom Henning has a soft blow to the whistle. Arsenal would probably have found it tougher at home had he beaked for their home 2nd leg against Villareal. This should be a good match afterall. Quite pleased as well.
  3. oh well, I suppose my sense of optimism is a little overwhelming...
  4. I live in Madrid, moved from Morocco - on work-holidays in South Africa at the moment.
  5. If it was all up to me, I'll set it up that we meet "Manure" in Rome. Last season left us "Manure'd" with a score of Scholes at Old Trafford. If we claim to be the best in Europe (based on form) today, we will have to prove our worth as Trophy-valid Footballers as well. It will be good for the fans too.
  6. Gracias dkw.!, Yeah, the "nerve" and so is the rest of this forum. Frankly, I'd say there's no need for that at all. Apart from "Manure-United", this is the test of nerve for whoever wants to remain in the competition. Becoming more excited for Rome makes more sense than anything else. thanks again & have fun.
  7. Ha,ha.. I guess we are as stylish as they come running into CL - and clear points off to Liga. I would be smart enough not to start Trophy tally as yet, its a little too pre-mature for a team that can never be blamed for its actions. I think we are overrated by most English sides. That spoils us alot too. Nevertheless, Wednesday provides a wonderful opportunity for us to reverse on issues. Its the tie Pep's most excited about. I like Guus, but things will be sad should he Park the Bus again, you simply need to be more creative and avoid the maeopic route, that is if you are to proceed to Rome. How bad do you want it.?
  8. I regret the fact Puyol and Marquez are missing this tie & Abidal should not man-handle Drogba at all. However as probable as things look, we will again look comfortable on the ball and our defense ( seen as evidently weak), will be explored almost hard enough and be threatened. Infact, the team that arrived in London a few hours ago looks toward a match that (as you pointed out) will become a classic one - moving from one end to another - where at the end of 90 minutes, we will have watched fantastic football towards claiming a spot for Europe's top Football Honor.
  9. No, We were dis-allowed a "clear penalty", and a couple of shots brilliantly saved by your Cech towards the end. The ball-loopings of Cech to Valdes were funny (to be modest), but that was your strategy I guess.
  10. Butch, You appaul me completely. What chances could Chelsea possibly create on the night? Park the Bus? The thing is, sooner or later you will have to come out and play (attack) to get a goal, and the only problem here is: you will be doing so without choice, meaning that you will be forced to play our kind of football (full force forward & ball retention), to open up the match. You will be slaughtered with that kind of approach, but it will have been a joy to watch the process of it all.
  11. The Best team in this tie is Barcelona. Thats already known. The winning team (not necesarily best) will be decided on the night. I just want it so much that Barcelona (the best football club in Europe this season) wins on Wednesday.
  12. Ola, My name is Messiesta and I'm from Barcelona. It's great to be on here as the exciting Champions League Nights are yet again. Hope you are all excited as we are for the final tie. ;)
