we can also afford to rest players between now and next Wednesday, thankfully they cant, so hopefully after the tough 95 minutes they played last night, then another really tough game against real madrid in a few days, they will be completley knackered by the time they come to SB.

we have the 12th man this time around, and hopefully we will get the majority of the decisions from the ref, as is usually the case in these big european nights.

another thing in our favour is the groundsman, ::clap2::

Chelsea are a ghost club with a ghost following. It doesn`t exist, if it disappeared no one would notice.
a new kind of following, capable of paying the excessive price of tickets, who go to the ground to be seen, well dressed but silent.

what 12th man?

Guardiola frustrated by Chelsea's tactics

"
One team is playing an attacking game and that should be taken into account.
Yaya's card (for dissent) was scandalous and I can't understand it - the referee should see which team is looking to attack,'' he added.

So according to Guardiola, any team that plays "proper" i.e. attacking football, should be rewarded by leniency from the officials. Because of course, football only consists of attack. Defending isn't proper football at all.

''We said before the game: 'no hard tackles, no fouls, it's not necessary', but we attacked, attacked and attacked and it's ridiculous that we should end up with the same amount of cards as them.''

They attacked. And dived and bitched and moaned. And they're still bitching and moaning. Hopefully these w**kers will have even more to bitch and moan about after the return leg.

Guus had a plan A.

It was to go to the 'Nil Camp' and grind out a 0-0 without losing any players to injury or suspension before the next leg, and ruffle a few spanish feathers in the process.

Worked a treat by the looks of things ! :Connie_threaten:

i know, i was answering in case we get any greasy waiters in. :Connie_threaten:

fair dues

we definitely need to be more adventurous, our record at pens is nothing short of embarrassing

the problem is scoring them. he did save skinny ron's last year but we still lost :(

My recollection was that Ronaldo missed the net completely, and that Cech did not touch his shot.

Am I wrong about that?

Ronald done his usual little run up and stopped thinking Cech would dive..then kicked it straight at him as I recall...I was laughing at the time as I had just said exactly what he would do and that Petr wouldn't fall for it.

Tomorrow, we will play The Clàsico, the most important match of our season. I think it will be a good repeat for the Champion's return Leg.

Madrid needs absolutely to beat us to hope for the title. I hope we won't have any problems like we had with Marquez. Some guys says Messi and Iniesta could be on the bench, but I dunno if it is true.

Good luck for your match this week end in Premier League.

Visca El Bàrça.

ronaldo stopped in the run up, then placed it pretty well, but petr guessed the right way. great save.

Best of luck to you in your derby game too. Hopefully it will make up for your disapointment on Wednesday when you taste defeat at the best football club in the World, not just Europe. Messi shouldn't need a rest as he will be in Essien's pocket all night ::clap2::

Bad omen?

I was playing out the game on FIFA 09, was up 4-1 at the half with a Lampard hatrick. Essien was marking Iniesta like no other...

And then suddenly, I somehow let Barca back. The game ended up a 9-9 tie (I must be half asleep or something) and I took it to penalties just for the hell of it, and lost there too.

Meh....

I'm willing to bet everything I own that the game doesn't finish 9-9.

PG should be throwing salt over his left shoulder to avert the bad omen!

He should also be telling himself that some things are too shameful to be confessed publicly!
