Posted May 5, 200916 yr Tom Henning Ovrebo will take charge at the Bridge on Wednesday. Apparently he's a psychologist away from the park (and, no doubt, at times on it). As long as he's fair & firm when needed and doesn't fall for the Barca theatrics (which you just know are going to eventuate at some stage) like Frisk did then he might not be a bad choice. Italians may not have fond memories of him.
May 5, 200916 yr If he's a psychologist, he won't bend over to pressure. I miss the Slovakian guy we had last year, he also officiated the world cup final I think.
May 5, 200916 yr he was the ref for the barca-lyon 5-2. 1 yellow to barca, 8 to lyon, juninho sent off... you can check his games here: http://www.soccerbase.com/refs2.sd?refid=309 i think the guy loves his cards. also, we don't have much luck with scandinavian refs against barca. frisk in 2000 and 2005, hauge in 2006, we finished all three match with 10 men...
May 5, 200916 yr we don't have much luck with scandinavian refs against barca. frisk in 2000 and 2005, hauge in 2006, we finished all three match with 10 men... Have they actually beaten us when both teams have finished the game with eleven players on the pitch? Ok, they just need a score draw now, but I was just wondering.
May 5, 200916 yr Author From memory I don't think they've ever beaten us with 11. I'd forgotten about the Lyon match - a bit ominous isn't it!! Now if you were a conspiracist.....
May 5, 200916 yr They have never beaten us with 11 on the pitch ! Also, has any Barcelona player ever had a red card in the Champions League? Hmmm
May 5, 200916 yr has any Barcelona player ever had a red card in the Champions League? Hmmm Yes. It's been a while, though. FC Barcelona are on a CL record running streak of 104 CL matches without receiving a red card. The last Barca player to be sent off in a CL match was current coach Josep Guardiola in the away match against Brondby on 9 December 1998. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/8010840.stm
May 5, 200916 yr Yeah, we are quite pleased with the choice Tom Henning has a soft blow to the whistle. Arsenal would probably have found it tougher at home had he beaked for their home 2nd leg against Villareal. This should be a good match afterall. Quite pleased as well.
May 6, 200916 yr THAT WAS THE MOST f**kING DISGRACEFUL PIECE OF OF "REFEREEING" I HAVE EVER SEEN. TOM H&*$%(*G OVREBO NO CHELSEA SUPPORTER WILL EVER FORGET YOUR NAME.
May 6, 200916 yr This'll make it all better: *awaits severe beating* I will smack you on top of the head, but I will do it while laughing :P
May 6, 200916 yr Seriously what a f**king joke honestly how can he say that he didnt see f**kin 4 penalty claims and they werent doubtful they were f**kin clear penalties...!!!
May 6, 200916 yr C'mon lads, we are not Liverpool fans. Less of the killing talk Let's show some morality and decency.
May 6, 200916 yr Seriously what a f**king joke honestly how can he say that he didnt see f**kin 4 penalty claims and they werent doubtful they were f**kin clear penalties...!!! UEFA pay good money for a good final. Even the Chelsea players said UEFA didn't want another all english final, it is no secret how corrupt UEFA are. Remember the draw last year that was on the net before it was even called. Someone needs to look into the corruption and I am not just going on tonights game.
May 6, 200916 yr C'mon lads, we are not Liverpool fans. Less of the killing talk Let's show some morality and decency. True. Couldn't stop the outflow of emotions. I said on the match thread too, it was a performance that made me proud.

May 6, 200916 yr I think the ref was just inept and the occasion was too much for him. Blame UEFA for the appointment. They've now got the final thy wanted. BTW I think Manure will blow Barca away They're not as good as they think they are.
May 6, 200916 yr that was an utter joke from the ref. he was pathetic and totally bottled the decisions. how the hell he never gave at leaswt 2 pens ill never know.

Well Said matey You can understand some of the players reaction... but we are Chelsea.. lets take it on the chin nothing can be done now. Console ourselves that once again we have proved we are the best team in Europe
May 7, 200916 yr From the sun: Last night Ovrebo admitted to UEFA representatives at the match that he had made “significant mistakes†during the game. f**king disgrace he is.
