Such a cowardly set up by Poch. If we had went out fighting, got caught on the break, then I think most would have forgiven the manager and blamed it on missed chances. This playing for pens when you have the upper hand is unforgivable. This cowardly attitude stinks the club out. Just f**k off Poch, any sort of respect you maybe had as a manager is completely gone.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned in the match-day thread but we are still giving away very stupid free kicks in dangerous areas. These are frees that are usually when someone is running from goal or causing no real danger.
We had at least 6 of which Conor committed 2, one from which Liverpool scored their disallowed. Liverpool had 1 in which Diaz just pushed into the back of Chilwell for no reason on the byline.
You can guarantee that Klopp would have been fuming at this especially if we’d have scored but week in week out we are doing it.
Surely Poch should be trying to instil a  bit of discipline in the squad at this stage.

Klopp operates on the basis of Chaos theory, its his USP.  When it gets down to the real nitty gritty and the finest of margins Klopp generally takes the "Fck it" road and throws in a hail Mary. By doing this he immediately gains the sentimental high ground ("Ooh, let's hope this doesn't go to extra time, Jurgen's team have got school in the morning") and at the end of the day he has nothing to lose because he is backed up anyway.
Pochettino just cannot fathom this out, so actually invites it on, by retreating and playing for penalties. The fact that he went with two goalkeepers on the bench in a cup final is fking criminal for a start. Where was Washington, Stutter (Name?). I will not believe that every single forward player in the club is injured.
Cowardly and quintessential spursy-ness from this guy. I was on the fringes anyway, because he has improved nobody, his intense micro management, his excellent man management and football acumen are non existent, but above all, this guy has to go under his own measure, his own criteria. In his first press conference, and several thereafter, "This is Chelsea, first we win. We must win first, then we can grow. Winning is everything". He was appointed on 1st July 2023. We will shortly be at 1st March 2024 and we remain a shambles in style, organisational structure, fitness and tactical ability. By his own yardstick he remains an abject loser to date.

Frustrating I know but we do have to try and forget the price tag. It was the club that spent it. I think he had a decent game yesterday and has been improving. Probably £60/£70M was more the price.

If we had won it would have been happy days.

As much as I hate to piss all over the 'Klopp's kids won the cup' narrative, it's probably worth noting that out of two XIs which finished the match, Liverpool's had the highest average age. (Chelsea 22.63, Liverpool 24.09).

About time someone called out all the favoritism to Liverpool.
Even if if puts a seed of doubt in officials minds during the match then it's worth it.
I'm still convinced Lukaku was onside in that League Cup final but the officials didn't want to give a late goal against Liverpool.
