this is an absolute joke! just another example of platini being a complete and utter d**khead making an example of english clubs. I literally despise the man, football will be restored when he is no longer in the job. This HAS to be overturned surely, an 18 month transfer ban?!? Great work from all of the team last nite, Lamps for me was the best player on the pitch, he was our quarterback last nite. Everything great went through him. As per usual. Ballack and Deco were excellent too but maybe slightly overrating the performance of Deco, give it 2 more games and he'll be washed up for the season. He showed signs that he couldnt keep up with the pace last nite.

Its clear that the current team is not getting any younger so surely we should put a bit more of our transfer emphasis on the future rather than looking again at short term players like Pirlo. The current set up dictates our style of play relying heavily on Lamps pulling the strings and the full backs getting up and down the flanks. Lamps is now 31 and drogba who is also a staple part of our team is not getting any younger. If beautiful football is what roman wants then surely the current system is going to struggle to achieve this. Now I'm not debating the quality of the side but the system is built to go through lampard and once opponents cut him out they stop a large part of chelsea. It does involve spending big but the initial outlay will hopefully provide a good 10 years of return. If we could get our hands on the likes of Aguerro, Pato, Sessegnon (superb performance today in the emirates cup) then we can build a team around such players providing potentially crowd-pleasing football with a long term focus. If we are honest, the current crop of players coming through the academy are not goin to be world-beaters so unless that improves we're gonna have to buy in. What are your thoughts?

the reason i would prefer gattuso to pirlo is the passion he brings to the game. Gattuso is a typical fiery italian and someone who I feel would bring that much needed fight back into our team. The likes of drog, malouda and ballack all think they can get away with murder, with gattuso around he would give them a kick up their arse to make them work as hard as they can.

definately over priced! i would like to see aguero instead. the next maradona. we need some flair.

I honestly don't think Eto'o would do well in the EPL. He has played in Spain for his whole career and therefore would take a while to adapt to the more physical attributes of the english game. He did look out of his depth on wednesday but then again, I didnt see messi much and he is definately world class. There is no doubting though that we do need a striker to replace Drog when he is having an off day. I would love to see someone like Benzema at Chelsea

potentially, but united still play attractive football, the difference is that they are built upon a decent defense. It is interesting to think where Barca would end up if they were in the premiership??? I'd say they would not be as consistent as they would not be used to playing strong physical teams who are not afraid to ruffle a few feathers.. my prediction would be 3rd.
