That is going to be a terrible deal for AC Milan if it does go through. They weren't looking very organized in the US, and losing Pirlo wouldn't help that at all. It could be a good thing for us, although I'm all for letting Deco get comfortable in the holding role. I really think Pirlo has a lot to offer, but who's going to be left out to make room?

Hleb is supposed to be going on a 1-year loan.

I think the weakest position currently would be right wing, and I know some would disagree due to squad size but I had to pick one it would absolutely be Pato. If I had to choose a right wing player though I would personally choose Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Slightly off-topic but I can't see why Chelsea is considered to be heavy in the midfield. I count 3 keepers, 10 defenders, 7 midfield, 9 forward. Granted most of the midfielders are actually used, but still it seems obvious the other positions need to be trimmed first. Oh, and I agree Alonso isn't needed.

No there shouldn't be in Football. There weren't any in the Confederations Cup.

It's hard to say if Ibrahimovic will see any play time. I imagine he'll be on the bench but his transfer is expected to complete at the end of the week so I doubt he will play.

I agree, Man of the Match is Deco, but for me the honorable mention goes to Bosingwa. He played excellent defense and made a lot of good runs up the right side. Sort of a Zhirkov-esque role maybe?

I live in Vancouver, just across the river from Portland. I made the drive up on Friday night, missed the practice but I spent a good 5 hours at Fado's. I need to thank everyone that put it together, had a great time and got the new jersey for $40. Saw a few people with The Shed End t-shirts also.

Amazing game, I got a nice tan! First half Deco looked great and he really ran the show. Everyone looked good with the exception of Ashley Cole. He took quite a few bad stabs at the ball and almost all of Seattle's chances came from his side. At one point I noticed Deco pointing Terry into a deeper and further left position, probably to make up for it. In the second half Ivanovic and Carvalho saved the clean sheet, and Di Santo looked really quick and strong. Sheva didn't really get any good looks, and he was clearly frustrated with Pizarro. As far as the Belletti incident he was directly behind the ref from my position, but didn't the ref get in his face? Poor sportsman ship on the ref's part... and way to make America look bad in an international friendly. Edit: Why no Drogba/Essien at all!?

Really impressed with the site, more than does the team justice! I'm from Washington State in the US, and can't wait to see the Blues tomorrow in Seattle! I was lucky enough to visit Stamford Bridge last year during Eurocup, but unfortunately the only thing we were able to see was the Megastore :) We walked down from where we were staying on Warwick Way near Victoria which turned out to be a lot of fun, I highly recommend it! Anyway glad to be here, cheers.

I think Eto'o was holding out for quite a large sign-on fee and probably some astronomical wages, but I believe City was mainly tired of waiting for him to make a decision. I can't imagine Adebayor would be a bigger priority, although maybe we're misjudging their criteria and they're trying to bolster the team with ego! In that case I'm not sure who is more important :)

I can't believe Barca would actually think this is a good deal. Eto'o must be throwing a fit to leave after the City transfer fell through.

I think Berbatov is a much smarter player than Ibrahimovic... but forget both of them. Pato is the best choice imo.
