Dear Friends, Amazingly, it is that time of year again, the home stretch, and thus time to begin the LAST-11 Competition, where we predict the results for the Blues' last eleven premier league matches. The only 2 requirements are that (1) you send these in before the next game at the weekend against Man City (for those of you who send in your predictions after that game, you will of course not receive points for matches that have already been played), and (2) you send in predictions for all remaining matches at one time, i.e. not split into 1 match at a time. Points will be awarded as follows: 3 points for the exact score, 1 point for the correct result but wrong score, and 0 points for the wrong result. A Goal Difference will also be kept, i.e. the amount of goals off from the actual number that Chelsea score for any given match. This will be used for tie-breakers. The last eleven games of the season are as follows: 1. Man City (h) 2. West Ham (h) 3. Blackburn (a) 4. Portsmouth (a) 5. Aston Villa (h) 6. Man Utd (a) 7. Bolton (h) 8. Tottenham (a) 9. Hi again TT, If you go to the Preston table, and subtract the Total Points for the Preston match from Cumulative Points Total, you will see that you had 20 points more than what I gave you in the Sunderland table above (5695 v 5675), i.e. you actually got the 50-point bonus for the win (rather than the 30-point bonus for second place). Hi TT, You are, of course, correct. However, Derek sent me a nice cheque in the mail, and so you see my dilemma. Seriously, my eyes deceived me and I gave Derek 10 points for being 5 off of the actual number of goals scored instead of taking 10 off, so that is the mistake. However, the table I posted above I did from scratch 2 days ago (especially for you), without using Excel, which is why the mistake occurred. The points tallied in the Cumulative Points total immediately at the end of the Sunderland match was, however, done in a spreadsheet and so I am confident that is not incorrect. What I do need to do is take back a win from Derek and give it to you in the Winners' Circle (as that running total is not kept in the spreadsheet). Sorry for the confusion. Cheers, Butch

Dear Friends, Apologies for yet more confusion. Due to a slight oversight on my part, I used a questionable time of first goal of 36 minutes (from Official Chelsea website). The problem is, at the bottom of that same page the time of first goal is listed as 37 minutes. I thus cross-checked with the Official FA Cup website and found that they listed time of first goal by Anelka as 37 minutes. As such, Chippy gets an additional 10 points for getting time of first goal spot on, and TT, Ossie13 and myself are deducted 15 points for slipping out of the bonus slots (TT slipping from 2nd to 3rd, and Ossie13 and myself slipping out entirely - sorry mates).
