The way they've been dismantling lesser teams at the end of last year and the start of this season is just frightening. I've never seen anything like it. A lot of it is mental. It's not like we come out pummeling these teams from the start of the match. Even the Wigan game at the end of last season was only 2-0 at half. Their play though just builds up momentum like an avalanche or something. The other team loses faith or interest but Chelsea never does. Clearly Carlo has the mindset that you can never score enough which is great.

He was. It was his poorest match I remember him playing for quite some time. His usual fantastic work ethic was there but his passing was very sloppy and I didn't think his positioning was very good either.

No reason for any changes in the first eleven. However if we only manage to score five, or :gasp: even four, I'd suggest we make wholesale changes for the next fixture.

No idea where to go with this one but I gave Alex a little love. Thought he played as well as Terry and had a few key defensive plays when the game was still close. Other possibilities were the guys who scored two Aelka and Kalou (although the game was decided when ge came on), Terry, Cole, Drogba, Lampard. Hell the whole team played pretty well.

Just watched it on tape. We were outplayed for the first half hour or so. However while there were a few dicey moments I was never really all that concerned. Then we fired up the goal machine and the rest is history. It's kinda scary that this team can score so many goals when they really aren't playing particularly well. Maybe I'm being a little harsh with that comment but I feel like Chelsea has been in third gear fir these last two.

This is a shame. At least he'll be alright though just not a professional footballers. The headline for the article on facebook made it sound far more ominous. At least he'll always have that brilliant cross to Lampard against Stoke.

I like Zhirkov but as first sub where does he really fit in? We're pretty set along the left with Cole, Lampard and Malouda. Those three are going to get the vast majority of time when fit.

I haven't seen the price but if it was anywhere near what was rumored I'm very surprised he was so cheap and there wasn't more interest. He would have fit in great in Manchester I thought. What a pity.

Yeah this makes for a cute story but it was pretty obvious he wasn't going to play for them again, wasn't it?

Not positive but I know he played an hour for Brazil against the US a week ago. I'm sure he was training for Benfica recently too.

I could see Kalou getting a start for Anelka, although probably not. I'd start Ivan at right back if he's fit. Hopefully will be a nice game to get Ramires feet wet.

Balotelli never got a fair shake at Inter really, if there was everyone someone who would benefit from a change of scenery it would be him. The signing is a risk though, but with City's money does it really matter if he flops?

Wenger is right, the rule is dumb. I never bought the whole foreigners playing in England ruin the English National Team (or any other country for that matter). There are no shortage of great English players to pick from in the Premier League. Certianly enough to fill out an 11 man squad. These players cut their teeth against some of the best players in the world. So how exactly does getting rid of the great foreign players and replacing them with poorer English players help? The English players wont be as good because they wont be playing against as stiff competition. The league isn't as good because the players aren't as good.
