  1. Haha yeah I know that feeling. Well I'm from Detroit but I currently live in Bay Area.
  2. I've been prowling the forums for quite a while now, perhaps even as long as a year, but I finally decided to make an account because I wanted to view the rumors forum! Anyways, I'm a blue Yank ( ) and I've been supporting Chelsea since the beginning of the 02/03 season. I remember it clearly because it was the season before Abromovich took over. I started supporting them because I saw a friendly of theirs the summer before the season began. I can't remember the stadium it was played in, but I do remember there were a fair bit of Chelsea fans because so many of them were singing. It was honestly a breath taking experience, even for a friendly. It's something you really don't get to see here in the states. So yeah, as you can probably guess from my name, my favorite player is by far Drogba. I love his style, the way he uses his body to his advantage, the way he involves all his teammates, and his cool attitude. He gives some of the most hilarious interviews. It also has to be mentioned that I admire him because of his efforts in helping those less fortunate than us in Africa and the way he practically single handedly stopped the civil war in Cote d'Ivoire. I actually did my African research paper on Cote d'Ivoire just because of him, though I learned there is much more to that country than Drogba (Felix Houphouet-Boigny, anyone?). Finally, I think it's absolutely incredible that he loves his country so much that he played in the WC with a broken arm. That tells a lot about his character. So here's to another great season, in Ancelotti we trust edit: I also edit my posts a lot.
  3. Well if reports are to be believed, Real Madrid is preparing a 30 million pound bid. When you factor in that he's 29 and a defender, I'd gladly let him go for that much. Then we can use a third of it to buy Fabio Coentrao, who at only 22 looks good enough to be in the top 5 left backs in Europe. However, I don't particularly trust reports from these sites. I do trust Ancelotti though, and so by the end of the transfer window I'll know which choice was the right one.
  4. What about Yaya Toure? I was really hoping he'd come over.
  5. I agree that we will never in a million years get Torres for under 25 million pounds. That's why I don't want him. 50-60 million pounds (depending on who you believe) is absolutely ridiculous, especially given his showing at this WC and his recent injury. About him being a diva, well, I'd expect we'd see some clashes between him and Drogba were he to come. Though that could just be me being pessimistic. Someone already responded for me to this regarding Khedira. I don't think we'll see Muller or Schweinsteiger either, but hey, it's our dream line up right?
  6. I really don't want Khedira with his price tag and Matic coming through the ranks or Oezil, who will more than likely find the British style challenging. Id rather have Muller and Schweinsteiger. Also, if we can land Torres for less than 25 million pounds then fine but 55 million is way too much and I fear we will end up paying him 250k a week to sit on the bench because of injuries. Plus he's a diva and might mess up locker room harmony.
