Hates the Crown - Loves the halfcrown
Well you're doing enough talking about him for someone who doesn't want to waste their time doing so. Plus, while you are free to speculate about his reasons for not wearing one, you (and me and everyone else) doesn't know why he did it.

Including the freedom to decide whether you want to wear a poppy or not. It's not that big a deal at the end of the day. He hasn't made statements in the media or on twitter in an effort to gain publicity for himself (I'm looking at you messieurs Roberts and Ferdinand), and he also observed the minutes silence. If the wearing of a poppy becomes mandatory instead of being a voluntary action, then it becomes every bit as meaningless as the pre-match handshakes.

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 11/11/12 KO 16:00 GMT
We have a chance, and we'll certainly be the closest challengers to the Manchester clubs, but I don't think we will this season. With added depth to the squad, and patience with the manager, we'll have a far better chance next season and beyond.

Well you have to look their movement and positioning in the box too and compare that to Torres'. There was a point in the second half Bertrand broke down the left and Torres was in the box. He made a darting run to the near post and was only able to make slight contact with the ball, but that's besides the point. The point is he doesn't make those kind of runs often enough. A lot of the time he seems to shy away from it and chooses a "safe" spot in the middle. The movement of people like RVP and Hernandez, and even Torres of old, are far better which is why they get more chances and goals. Now, sometimes Torres does do the right thing but doesn't get picked out, so yes it's no entirely his fault. But I don't think he does enough to get chances.

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 11/11/12 KO 16:00 GMT
Disappointing result, and performance, but not the end of the world. But I have to ask, what is it with us and this time of year? Some big tests coming up for these players in the next few weeks. The game started as I expected, with Liverpool having lots of possession but doing f**k all with it. We looked far more dangerous early on with the little bit of possession we had. We got a bit of help from Webb in the build up to our goal, but he made up for that by stopping a counter attack when he blocked Ramires. The Terry injury looked nasty and we really need him fit. Hopefully it won't be too serious. We had some really good chances either side of half time but didn't take them. We also should have had a penalty when Gerrard took Torres down, which amazingly received little or no attention from the commentators who were more worried about Gerrard. We faded badly in the last 20-25 mins and to be honest they deserved the point in the end. Hell by the end of the game they looked the more likely to win. All in all it was an average performance from everyone. Nobody stood out as being particularly good or bad. We'll need to up things considerably against Juve and Man City.

Strange selection. Ivan at CB and not Cahill is very strange.

Bobby Zamora Doesn't Like Football
I think they're making a story out of nothing (shocking I know). He's basically saying that football doesn't consume every second of his life and that he doesn't watch it in his free time. What's the big deal? I guarantee he's not the only footballer that feels that way. I remember Assou-Ekotta saying something similar a few years back. Something along the lines of football being just a job to him and nothing more. I'd rather have the players talk honestly about what they're thinking rather than spout the usual clichéd nonsense.

2005/2006 v Present time
He was talking about how long it felt between the FA Cup win in 2000 and the LC win in 2005. The current side have a way to go to be able to match the team from 04-06. That side were an attacking threat but were also rock solid at the back. But it's early days with this group. They've shocked just about everyone with how they've played so far. I for one thought it would take at least half of season for things to start clicking but they've hit the ground running. We need additions to the squad, sure, but we have a good base to build on.

Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT
Technically true, but a defeat means we may be relying on results elsewhere instead of having it in our own hands.

Yeah, hopefully we won't have to face them again for a while

And now, never mind all that sh*t. We win in Turin, we go through. Or a draw and a win in the final game will also do. f**king delighted but some serious defensive work needs to be done. JT in Luiz out for a start. But the midfield need to help out too. Too many times the defenders are getting outnumbered.

Not necessarily. If we draw tonight and against Juve, and Shaktar win their next game, and then Juve win against shaktar, we're out.

Torres needed to be sharper there.

Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT
Just been doing some calculating. We draw this, and lose against Juventus, we're out. Not predicting anything, just showing how our sloppiness in the last 2 CL games could come back to bite us even more on the arse.

Hands behind the back is a strange way of blocking is it Tony Gale? Well since you can't use your f**kings arms or hands in football, I think it's a pretty smart way of doing it. And Luiz is not the first to do so. Puyol does it, I'm pretty sure Carvalho did it and many others in Europe.

If he does want to take Bertrand off, the only real option to come on is Azpilicueta.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Both were given final warnings by the ref. The difference is Fergie took Cleverly off before he could be sent off, Wenger left Wilshere on. Actually on the subject of consistency, the RVP tackle reminded me of the Joe Cole tackle on Ronaldo from a few years back. Both resulted in yellow cards from Mike Dean. So we can say he's been consistent on those kind of tackles at least
