  1. Lols, luckily I get the 'ready-made EPL analysts' (Alan Curbishley and Andy Townsend are normally there) and all 3 of them agreed that the penalty and Bosman's red could have gone completely the other way in that no penalty could have been awarded and Boss could have received a free-kick. Naturally they also though we could have had a penalty for the ridiculous 'arms around Luiz at a corner' foul.
  2. I could be wrong, but ground-sharing (as is the case with Inter and AC Milan) and what you're talking about do differ. In both cases 2 clubs make use of the same stadium, but with the San Siro the 2 Milan clubs jointly lease the stadium from the Milan municipality. Whereas you're suggesting that we build a stadium and then lease it to QPR to generate extra revenue. At least that's how I understand it.
  3. Sorry for being an idiot, but I presume then that certain BBC offices are located on the White City premises? EDIT: Never mind Google and Wikipedia did the trick. :)
  4. And we'll have a manager who is prepared to buy (semi)-established players instead of grooming youth-team players. :D
  5. Betrand and Luiz both played 120mins midweek so I really don't see the logic in playing them ahead of fresher, rested players..
  6. I really don't agree about Anelka, I'll use him as an impact sub if necessary. On Drogba, afaik AVB said that Drogba did medium intensity training on Thursday and high intensity on Friday, he then added that the game would most probably come too soon for him.
  7. I think you've nailed the front 3 there, but I'm pretty sure Lampard will be starting(unless AVB has something sneaky up his sleave)... And as you said that would most probably be in the place of Meireles or (imo) Ramires. We definitely need Mikel to break up United's play, but having said that Ramires's limitless energy, running and commitment are almost equally as important.
  8. And their victories against us in the last 3 years? What about that clear penalty claim Ramires was denied last season? As infuriating as incorrect referee's decisions are, they manage to balance out (well sort-of) eventually. It's hardly like referees favour one team over another (at least I hope not). Side-note: Barcelona's victory (on away goals) at Stamford Bridge was not poor referee display (more like horrific and shameful) and as such is not taken into with my stating the above :)
  9. Hearing all of this it makes me extremely happy that we are provided with a 'locally'-assembled group of pundits on South-African tv. Though they really overdid the: "it's the end of an era at Chelsea" - Lampard and Terry aren't playing etc etc. Never heard of squad rotation hey?
  10. I'd Replace either Mereiles or Lamps with Mikel in that line-up. But since Lamps was rested against Bayer, I think it will probably be Mereiles who goes (if AVB agrees with my train of thought). :)
  11. Before last night's game against Bayer, I would have said you can have him thank you very much. But, he really played well after coming on and gave the Bayer defence a number of problems through his creation of chances for his teammates.
  12. Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but why exactly would there be a lot of Rangers fans at a Chelsea away game?
  13. But surely there comes a time when the development a young player takes priority over the experience an older player can provide? If not, what will we do when Ash's time is up? Buy another left-back to keep PVA and Ryan out of the team?
  14. Wow, exciting stuff no doubt. :) Messi anyone? lol
  15. He's like the antithesis of a Stoke player, no?
  16. What you're saying makes sense, but honestly in that case I'd have to ask why they haven't done something about it earlier? It's not like Chelsea only realised today that Yossi wouldn't be featuring in this season's plans, but oh well.
  17. I would be completely against that... Arshavin is way too inconsistent also his decision-making and finishing is way below where it needs to be for any player we'd sign.
  18. Anyone know the motivation for loaning Benayoun and not selling him? Wasn't there enough interest in buying him or what? Realistically it's not like he's going to feature for our team in a year's time at the age of 32...
  19. He's trying to say that some will argue it largely as a result of Hernandez's success at Man Utd that we've signed Davila (a Mexican like Hernandez).
  20. I agree with you, but honestly I'll admit I was anxious to see him start against Pool as I got swept up in the excitement of signing him on deadline day. Afterwards though it was clearly the wrong decision to start him.
  21. As good as he is, he's not young and he's very injury-prone so I wouldn't pay more than 25mil Pounds for him. And realistically there is no way Bayern would sell him for that little. No deal. :)
  22. If we get him, it will be right before the deadline and we'll end up paying way more than he's worth...
