Leeds v Chelsea (League Cup) 19/12/12 KO 19:45
Very impressed with Moses, especially his awareness and decision making. I don't think he got the credit he deserved on the post match Sky analysis...Jamie Redknapp gave Mata all the credit for Moses's goal... it was a fantastic pass by Mata but Moses had alot to do to create space for the shot and also put it in the back of the net. He also looks very comfortable knocking the ball around in midfield and links well with Oscar, Mata and Hazard...I think he is a genuinely great prospect especially if he can hold his own in this company. Definitely not a selfish player and has a good football brain...I think he'll be a great player for Chelsea and England if he carries on like this. Also like the right back Azpilicueta...he's showing some promise. David Luiz gave the ball away too much today, I don't think he is a natural defender and still think he should play DMF.

Fans opportunity to influence...
It's been pointed out that I've made very few posts but being economical with my words doesn't mean I don't care! Following an unpredictably successful season, we've found ourselves in another unpredictable situation. The club has been appointed a manager who is probably the most unsuitable candidate possible...historically his previous affiliations, controversial comments and confrontations with the club and management have resulted in unfavourable reception...which still persists. Wearing a red tie doesn't help and losing games is also not acceptable. This is a real opportunity for the fans to influence decisions and make their voice heard.... I'm sure this forum is looked at by more than the fans...so please make some valid points and lets back these up with strong evidence. The opportunity to make a difference is available ...lets take advantage!

And a decent transfer fee... I doubt we'll ever get what we paid but the club needs to benefit or at least minimise losses. If he's to be sold then he should be advertised as a desirable asset. If the fans can't back him and promote him then whoever takes him will steal him away. I know it's not our money but its in the clubs interests to make profit or at least minimise losses. Here's what I think...I can't prove it, or back it up with any evidence...this is what I think and hope it creates a healthy discussion: "Rafa has been brought to the club to bring the best out of Torres, a £50 million asset. Rafa's contract is explicitly short term and there is no intention of keeping him at the club longer than necessary. The only reason he has been brought to Chelsea is to at least elevate the value of Torres or miraculously transform him into a goal scoring monster. 5 goals in 3 games is a marked improvement...however the opposition we've played up to now hasn't been the same standard...with respect. Lets see what happens after the Corinthians game...they are a proper team who play real football and our first real challenge following RDM's departure. Managers, players and even owners will come and go but the club should be the focus...i'm interested in whatever benefits the club. I've been a fan for a long time but only recently been compelled to join this forum. The club should always be the focus and we should judge people on how they affect the club...for the better, improving, promoting, elevating...positive ways of taking it forward...the point is, what is the most important aspect of CHELSEA...players, manager, owner or the club?...

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I believe the motivation behind this thread is to provoke a reaction. For example, some managers will put their arm around a player and empathise with them in order to get a reaction while others will tell them they're useless and put them on the bench before giving them another opportunity to prove themselves. Much like this thread there are opinions supporting Torres and others losing patience but ultimately I think everyone wants him to do the business. Show us what you're f*ck!ng made of and lets put this thread to bed!!!

Thanks Roman
I accept a certain degree of eccentricity from Roman and also believe he's not under the impression that this is a business investment. Football clubs do not generate money and if an owner is under this impression we would be in the same position as Arsenal, Liverpool etc... We need to accept that Roman is playing fantasy football for real. Lets look at the evidence: Chelsea have won 13 trophies in the last ten years. They won the Premier League in 2005, 2006 and 2010, the FA Cup in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012, the League Cup in 2005 and 2007, the Fa Community/ Charity Shield in 2005, 2009 and 2010 and perhaps the biggest prize of all, the Champions League, in 2012. In the past ten years they have won as many trophies as they did in the previous 97 years of their existence. I think Roman deserves some respect.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Why would Torres go to another Premiership team? 1. Man Utd - Fergie doesn't want him 2. Man City - Too many strikers 3. Arsenal - Can't pay his wages 4. Liverpool - Really? 5. Tottenham - Seriously? 6. Any Spanish La Liga team vs Premiership team... Athletico Madrid would welcome him back all day long...have you seen how they kick a ball around? I hate to say but they destroyed us in that Supercup...Falcao ran the show that day.

The 16th minute
Was watching the game on streaming and "there's only one Di Matteo" was filling the stadium after 15 mins. Legendary status...

Two strikers...do me a favour Can you imagine Torres and Sturridge up front? One cant score and the other cant look up...in fact all our midfielders CAN score so why do we need strikers?
-
Thanks Roman
He has more money, power and influence than most small countries...he can do what he wants. However I think he is very interested in the clubs success and respects fans opinions. Man City have wealthy owners but I never see the cameras focusing on them during MoTD. Roman always seems to be at most games which shows he gives a sh*t. In my opinion I think he's made in bad decision bringing Benny boy in as manager. However, do you think he'll accept any kind of mediocrity? Lets all chill because I think it will all work out in the end ;)

Agree with all the above. With regards to our second striker and i'm presuming you're referring to Sturridge? I think a striker needs to be selfish to an extent but should show some awareness of what's happening around him. I also think some modesty or humbleness comes across well after scoring a goal especially while you are still losing or drawing a game. A team should be built around its best player(s). Di Matteo tried this and got sacked, until our so called "best player" leaves we will continue to be disappointed.

Thanks Roman
Benitez is going to ruin us...I could have managed the team and got a result. Dont understand why Benitez has taken the job???

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
This is my opinion and I would welcome a good discussion... I think the signings we made this summer have transformed our team into a very attacking team which all comes from the midfield. Di Matteo acknowledged this fact and was bold enough to rely on this strength by dropping Torres from attack in the Juve game. Maybe a little naive and he showed his inexperience by experimenting but he believed in the midfield lads i.e. Hazard, Oscar, Ramires, Mata. I think he was trying to replicate the Spain international team or Barca by using the midfield to work as a unit and score from anywhere which was a gamble but very possible with the talent we have. Unfortunately Juve are too experienced, Italian teams are naturally strong defensively and our team is still learning to play this style of football. You mention using 2 Strikers and relying less on defensive mids...I'm actually not very confident in the defensive mid we use at the moment so eliminating him would be very worrying. I'd rather stick with what Di Matteo was trying to achieve and using the midfield to attack as a unit. All the players we have are capable of scoring and very attack minded so we have less reliance on a dedicated striker. Should have stuck with this ethos while strengthening the DMF position and swapping Torres for Falcao. We would have seen some exciting football, unfortunately Benitez has already set the team up in a way our exciting players cant express themselves resulting in a goalless draw against Fulham...boring!!!

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I understand what you are saying, trying to help Torres become part of the team by pairing him with a strike partner and giving him some freedom to help boost his confidence and perform better. But the problem and underlying issues remain, we are having to make sacrifices to our team and hoping Torres will "maybe" perform as he used to...i've always shown him respect and waited for him to perform but now i've just lost my patience. I thought Kezman was poor... Despite the massive investment, he is an undeniable flop. Unfortunately he's been placed under so much pressure with the massive fee that was paid for him and the expectation for him to perform. I don't think any of this was his decision or his fault, he was probably badly advised by a greedy agent and Liverpool were happy to pocket 50 million. Personally I think we should allow Torres to move on, he is a great player and hopefully will show everyone what he's capable of one day. However he's not a Chelsea player and never will be.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
You're right, this is not a personal issue and I apologise for the insults. Looking at the issue pragmatically, Torres is not happy playing for this club and this is obvious looking at his levels of commitment and body language when he plays. This fact should be recognised and rather than trying to force a square peg into a round hole, let him go and move on. I think there were two possible options the owner had: 1. Employ a manager who can bring the best out of Torres 2. Sell Torres and consult the existing manager for a recommended replacement I think the wrong option was taken in this instance but i'm confident our owner will correct any signs of potential failure without any hesitation. Roman has taken this club to the next level, we've won everything possible while he's been around. Not only that he's always present at most the games which show his commitment and personal interest in the clubs success. Onwards and upwards!

How long will it take to work out you cannot polish a turd? How many managers will need to be sacked before the penny drops? The obsession with this goalless wonder has led our club owner to employ a manager who once managed a team where "the hero" scored goals...great! This manager has not only recently admitted that the lesbo may not be able to match his previous form, he has openly shown his dislike for the club he now manages. Get the lesbian and fat waiter out and bring some order and balance back to our team. There's only one Di Matteo!

Chelsea v Bayern Munich (CL Final) 19/05/12 KO 19:45 BST
How ironic, 3-1 down to Napoli in the champions league and slipping in the premiership...then Mr Di Matteo steps in. It's early March and we're towards the end of the season. What has he done? Only gone and given us arguably the best season we have ever had! I've got so much to say and so many team members to praise but in summary, Drogba is a legend and must go down as one of the greatest players to have played in the EPL. The old guard still have what it takes...proven tonight and throughout our campaign. Di Matteo deserves his place as our manager, whatever happens he has engraved his name in our clubs history. Also credit to Bayern, they really played well and in fairness would have been deserved winners if it stayed 1-0 after normal time. However I believe we were destined to win and our teams belief and faith prevailed. Hope you all have an amazing evening!
