I just had to check to see if Madueka got taken off at half time.

I do not like seeing Palmer drop back to do Enzo's job for him. Palmer needs to be higher up.

That tends to happen when you play a left winger on the left wing.

I like the width Neto gives us down the left, so not everything has to happen on the right. Compare that to previous matches when Mudryk started. Sancho could give us another good option in that position, although I'm not sure which version of Sancho (Manchester or Dortmund) we've signed. I'd love to see Mudryk succeed with us, he can be such an exciting player, but I find it hard to imagine now.

Jackson was brought down while on a counter to get a free kick (and a yellow card for Hughes), or did I misremember?

That offside was marginal (but correct), I'll cut him some slack for that.

Somebody needs to get on the phone to Silva before the window closes.

The Danny Drinkwater parallels keep adding up.

https://livehd.lat/ehd-12.php You mean the stream? The way they pronounce the German word for corner kick (Eckball) as "eggball" keeps making me smile.

I suspect DH is mostly here to help the players transition into Maresca team, and will eventually get replaced in the first eleven by a better player. Or just frozen out next summer if Maresca gets sacked.

Our backline seem to have over-indulged on swiss cheese.

Madueka almost scoring his goal again, unlucky. Slightly heavy first touch.

I've quite liked his the referee has let the game flow and hasn't been constantly blowing for every little contact.

The have to refund the people who paid for that stream, surely? I found a Swiss-German stream and it'll do for me.

I bet Hoddle starts going on about the ball not being stationary again (it was).

I love how we're four goals up and still trying for more and passing forwards.

Again Mudryk, a perfect mix of great and ridiculous.

Chelsea vs Manchester City (PL) Sun 18th August 24 16:30 GMT
I just started watching around the time of city's goal and I'm just glad we've looked competitive and the game isn't going as badly as I'd feared. Jackson and Enzo are mostly stinking the place up, but otherwise we've played some good stuff and showed real signs of promise. It'll be very interesting if Maresca has the balls to address the problems at half time that pretty much all of us can see.

Euros 2024
Good to see England's performance default back towards our joyless performances of previous games. Southgate must have said some stern words at half time.

Euros 2024
It's been a decent half but we still have a couple of square pegs in round holes that are holding us back. Foden and Saka with Walker overlapping are doing a job on the right, but Bellingham (who keeps drifting into the middle anyway) and Trippier are not offering enough on the left. Bringing on Shaw to provide some actual would help and might also bring Bellingham more into the game. ... And as I typed that, Southgate has made the change. Let's see how it goes.
