  1. Thank f**k they're worse than us for wasting chances.
  2. I just started watching around the time of city's goal and I'm just glad we've looked competitive and the game isn't going as badly as I'd feared. Jackson and Enzo are mostly stinking the place up, but otherwise we've played some good stuff and showed real signs of promise. It'll be very interesting if Maresca has the balls to address the problems at half time that pretty much all of us can see.
  3. Good to see England's performance default back towards our joyless performances of previous games. Southgate must have said some stern words at half time.
  4. It's been a decent half but we still have a couple of square pegs in round holes that are holding us back. Foden and Saka with Walker overlapping are doing a job on the right, but Bellingham (who keeps drifting into the middle anyway) and Trippier are not offering enough on the left. Bringing on Shaw to provide some actual would help and might also bring Bellingham more into the game. ... And as I typed that, Southgate has made the change. Let's see how it goes.
  5. You could have asked for better penalties, tbh. Gareth's going to be playing for a nil nil and penalties for the remainder of the tournament after that.
  6. Our penalties have been excellent so far.
  7. England only ever really get going then Gareth's hand is forced and we have to abandon his original game plan.
  8. Good goal and good performance from Saka, TBF.
  9. No need for subs or changes. How can you improve on this perfection?
  10. I'd like to see Eze and Palmer instead of Foden and Saka in the next game, assuming we can hold on against the mighty Slovakia. Edit - what am I saying, you know the lineup will be unchained.
  11. I loved Southgate's confidence to get us to sit back again with a team stacked full of forwards. They don't give the England job to just anybody.
  12. Foden goes off, England score two goals in four minutes. Fancy that.
  13. Never in doubt...
  14. Guehi is lucky the Slovakia forward didn't go down.
  15. f**king hell, only at Chelsea. Just as he's starting to bring this ragtag bunch of random signings into something resembling a coherent team. Let's just throw that progress down the drain and start again, shall we?
  16. So glad to see mostly full stands (except the the away) for Thiago's farewell. I like what he said about wanting his kids to play for Chelsea when they grow up. The feeling's mutual.
  17. I might have something in my eye. What a player, what a man.
  18. What an epic block by Gallagher, JT-esque.
  19. Palmer's not had a great game and trying to force it now.
  20. Can't believe Gusto literally just turned 21. I assumed he was 23-24. Signing him was a good but of business.
  21. This game feels far from safe, we need to step up.
  22. Cucualla booked for that ridiculous/ hilarious spinning around on the ground thing, presumably.
