  1. That's because loads of fans boycotted it as they weren't having £50 for a group game... I'd certainly say more than 20,000.
  2. I was in the away end and hadn't a scooby as to what had happened. Found out when the cabbie mentioned it and started laughing... Bunch of cretins. And I've only recently started to use this site more often so no idea how to do a poll!
  3. Haha maybe it was the North stand then! But i'm pretty sure it was that game! Haha I envy not going to the games in the 80s etc... The away trips sound blinding
  4. Haha no it was Chelsea 2-0 Coventry mate... Early in the 96/97 season... Can't remember who scored mind! Was on my old mans shoulders in the Shed Lower I think!
  5. I just shat on the Coventry fans next door instead ;-) Cheers fellas
  6. It would be more than that... I mean over time we've had the 5th highest average home attendance in England. Plus nowadays many old school Chels stay away from the Bridge due to prices. If we were relegated we'd have a large core fanbase back of about 30,000-35,000 imo and the atmosphere would be better for it! Not to mention we'd take thousands away! Would be a right laugh!
  7. You'd be surprised mate there is actually a big youth fanbase ranging between 17-26 roughly. Many at Arsenal which is good to see. Cheap prices attracts them hence Arsenal was so good. Many stick to aways now. I prefer aways nowadays because it's a great day out with your mates and it's always a great atmosphere as we have one of the best away supports in England! Singing sections though at the Bridge and cheaper tickets in those areas would without a doubt bring more youth to the Bridge and we'd have a better atmosphere for it!
  8. Liverpool are a vile club in so many ways and that rant pretty much sums it up. They're just pure scum. Had some scousers in the club wembley at the final in 2012 spitting on us in the lower tier. Just pure vermin. And the fact that nothing is their fault is another reason to hate them! JFT39
  9. I was at the game last season at Elland Road. We had a superb turnout and was the best away i've ever done mainly due to the amount of old school Chels that came out for it. No replicas or tourists either. It was proper Chelsea. Just a shame we couldn't have the 5000 allocation!
  10. I'm 20 so a younger fan but our rivalry with Leeds seems really proper. I've done all the research into it and what i'd given to have been at that 1970 cup final... Would have been a great watch. I don't really care to much for Barca. They are our greatest European rival due to them being cheating scumbags but I prefer our rivalries in England to that
  11. How do you get the badges of the premier league teams and kits etc?
  12. Been registered on this site for a while but going to start using it more and more from now on so thought I'd introduce myself. Been going to Chelsea regularly since I was 2. Now do most away games each season and have a season ticket at the Bridge. 20 years old and will be following the team home and away for years to come. Up the Chels!
  13. For the big games (Spurs, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham) the atmosphere is very good and for evening European nights it's decent but for other teams it's pretty poor tbh! If United can get their safe standing campaign to work then this could help us. The club are listening to the fans more and more and many would like to see the safe standing in the Shed and in the Matthew Harding lower i'm sure. If the other half of the Shed then became a 'singing section' along with the vocal support from those in the Matthew Harding, then we'd have a top atmosphere for every game.
  14. When you start to support a team you should do until your dying day! I went to my first Chelsea game at 2 taken on my old mans shoulders and that was that! Now a ST holder and do nearly all the aways. You can't just switch loyalties. And tbh... although this may sound harsh... if you're considering becoming a Liverpool fan then you're not proper Chelsea. They are vermin... Despicable club in so many ways.
  15. So who do you consider to be our biggest rivals or who do you think our biggest rivalry is with? Also who do you dislike the most? This can be done on many aspects but for me a rivalry is a big one where there is full on hatred between both sets of supporters in a fiery atmosphere. There are many teams we have rivalries with and it's quite tough to choose! Spurs Leeds West Ham Liverpool Arsenal Millwall Man Utd QPR Fulham Cardiff Leicester Barcelona For me I think our biggest rivalries are with Spurs and Liverpool. Then probably West Ham and Arsenal. But a special mention to our rivalry with Leeds which is my favourite. It depends on what you really look for in a rivalry but this one takes it for me. If you've been at Leeds v Chelsea games before then you'll know... The hatred between both sides is massive. The cup game up there was superb. An electric atmosphere but a hate fuelled one at that and that's what does it for me... It's weird though because although I hate them with a passion, I want them promoted! Simply because an away trip to Leeds is better than one to Sunderland and Hull for example... Plus the rivalry between the clubs is a special one and one of the most fierce in England.
  16. This will be a tough game but I hope we stick it to these pikeys. It's a good London derby and fuelled with passion and hatred. Think we'll win it in a reverse of last season... 3-1
  17. Yeah I saw a video but don't know what caused it. Arsenal fans were getting very annoyed with the stewards apparently. Loads reported our fans for throwing stuff but the old bill and stewards did naff all! (Brilliant) As for the smoke bomb, if you let it off and chuck it away then it's tough even with CCTV to catch you. Loads of it last season
  18. Just like to say, people seem to think that they have just realised how good our away support is... Our away support has been one of the best in England for years and it will be for years to come. We sell out pretty much everywhere and we make one hell of a racket! Last season at place like Southampton, Villa, Brentford, United, Leeds (the best i've ever seen) and more... It's f**king brilliant following this club up and down the country taking the piss and having a top day out whilst getting behind the boys and making ourselves known. I know I'll be doing it for many years to come!
  19. I've seen a video of it but don't know why the lads were kicked out... Shows the old bill grabbing them by the necks and yanking them down the stairs. The way the lads were treated looked woeful. Did someone get nicked for the smoke bomb as well?
  20. Superb support last night and really put those Gooners to shame who were woeful. Gutted not to have been there but will be at the one in December at the Emirates! Amazing.... But still nothing on Leeds away which was out of this world.... Best away fans in the league along with United and Liverpool
  21. I think we should win this one easily. Going 4-1 Chels. Oh and a word of warning to anyone going to the game, watch out... Could get quite feisty I've heard.
  22. Just looking at the games now... Hull (H) SOLD OUT Villa (H) SOLD OUT United (A) SOLD OUT - 3000 Prague (Bayern Munich) (N) SOLD OUT - 5000 Only a few Fulham tickets left and Everton selling well too.... I still don't get the theory that we're all gloryhunters and have shocking support. Indeed... We do get a fair number of tourists at home games but we still have a large core support. I honestly believe at home we are ok... Nothing special. However we have one of the best away supports in the country. I'm going to the Hull game, United away and Prague... Buzzing for all of them especially United which is going to be awesome. The feel good factor is back and it's gunna be a cracking season.
  23. I've been to Goodison twice... No chance in you walking back to Lime St in 30 mins. Maybe leave 5 mins early and hop in a cab? It was between 5-10 mins if I remember right...
  24. I don't think we'll win... I reckon United will beat us 3-1 BUT if we score the first goal then we have a chance. We score first then United will be worried and Tuesday will have an effect. I'm going to the game and it's like we are a lower league team going to a premier league ground hoping for a good day out but expecting nothing! Anyway hopefully the 4500 of us can cheer the lads on and maybe we can get something here
  25. Right then... I'm looking forward to Sunday now. Get to Manchester nice and early so plenty of time to wind up them Mancs! Chants for Sunday: 'Jose Mourinho' 'One team in Europe' 'Champions of Europe, we'll sing it till May' 'Caki Cakir running down the wing, Cakir Cakir running down the wing, feared by the reds, loved by the rest, Cakir, Cakir Cakir' 'You can stick your farking treble up your arse' 'Always look out for Turks carrying cards, dedededededede' Oh Sunday is going to be fun.... ;)
