  1. Being honest, it's a concern. We've got a break now and if we can return refreshed and with the determination we showed yesterday, and with even only one or two of our four major injured players back, I'm hopeful. How do you see it for Chelsea? Things on the right track, it seems, to a neutral. Too many games a concern?
  2. I used the words 'focusing' and 'concentrating' because they indicate our intentions without being specific or tempting fate... :-) I hope to God that we get top four. If it comes to it, i'll settle for finishing ahead of the Gooners, but top four is so close...
  3. Soz not needed. Banter, wind ups all part of game.I'm not happy re. our result but I can't blame Chelsea for Vertonghen's sending off and the joke from Adebayor. Trying to convince myself that 'Focusing on the league' is a good outcome, sort of...
  4. Even as a Spud, got to agree. He's defo miffed. Strange reaction...
  5. Yep, some consolation and, in game itself, we did well, particularly when down to ten men. That said, Basle defo a good team and will challenge their next opponents. I'm off to pray that Lennon, Defoe and Bale 'get well soon' :-)
  6. F***. What's that phrase: 'free to concentrate on league...' Penalties, for English teams, just suck. F***.
  7. F****** hate penalties. Dawson, Walker & Carroll v impressive, no matter the outcome. Too f****** tense for words.
  8. I should know this, but don't: what does WRTP mean pls?
  9. Just contributed. I'll hold you to that promise, if we're ever skint! :-) I know why the rule is in place, but a points deduction from the SFA is a massively unhelpful act.
  10. I'm pretty confident until the kick off, then I see how good they are. We had a good win at Man U in Sept but I'm never 100% happy until the final whistle goes, after what feels like 10 extra mins...
  11. Ok mate. Soz I can't afford more than £5 as I'm brassic at the moment. I'll make the donation tomorrow at my bank. Good luck with the campaign.
  12. Yep, fair play to the guy. Pretty amazing act by JM.
  13. Good point - are 'you' confident when you play them?! :-)
  14. Genuine questions: any concerns here that JM is keeping his options open? I've read that he's sought assurances from RA that he'll be allowed sole charge of the team, purchases, etc. Is RA able to do that? (is it in his personality?). I hope he does come. Be a lot more interesting for everyone if he's in England next year.
  15. Agreed. Someone made the point, on another thread, that they only just won the title, last Season. They have some brilliant individuals but, if they don't gel for part of the season, are they a good team. Similarly, other teams (Arse, us, Chelsea and Liverpool) have some brilliant players but aren't as reliable a team as Man U. They are consistently putting in v good performances in the league, are strong in most positions and, to be honest, I'm never massively confident when we play them. Hopeful - yes. Confident - no.
  16. They 'look' average. Agreed. The league table shows something different: 71 goals for and only 33 against (joint second tightest defence, with Chelsea). 71 goals (14 more than City) shows the Van Persie effect, together with their other scorers; one v good player can make a great difference. So, are Man U that much better, or have the chasing teams misfired? Spurs are where we didn't expect to be, tbh, and things haven't clicked for the 'big' clubs, or are going well too late to make a difference. I hope we can get our collective acts together for next season...
  17. It'll be closer next year, with more genuine contenders. I hope Spurs will be in the mix next season and expect Chelsea to be. In terms of next year's top four, even Liverpool may be contending (they can't under-perform for ever and, IF Suarez stays, Rodgers can maintain the upward trend). It's been an "also ran" season for teams like City, etc. The real question, imo, is why are Man U walking away with it?
  18. I would say Liverpool as a good bet with a possible alternative being Swansea. Difficult set of games to call, particularly as you need a win.
  19. Well, you, you're an absolute......bounder. What's more, you're a cad too. I think I'm ahead on points as my insults had a touch of quality about them :-)
  20. How do you know about my sh*** flat and local Nando's?! You haven't been talking to my missus have you?...
