Mario Balotelli is one of the best young strikers in the world right now. The guy is fast, skilled, strong and big. Chelsea will lose Kalou and Drogba to the African Cup of Nations. They need to be replaced. Instead of buying big name strikers for huge amounts of fees, this is the perfect possibility to buy low.

Why? There are a couple of reasons for that. First of all, since "The Special One" bought Eto'o and Milito, Super Mario hasn't gotten as much playing time as he wants. Secondly, he is constantly being harassed by racist fans in Italy. For example, stuff like this:

In England, stuff like that doesn't happen and he will get much more playing at Chelsea. He will quickly develop and become one of the great strikers of his generation. Chelsea needs him. Drogba is getting up there in age and Kalou sucks.

Balotelli and Chelsea, a match made in heaven!

I have said in another thread, if Ancelotti can knock the bad attitude out of him, he would be a phenomenal signing.

Cheaper than Aguero, cheaper than Pato...and young enough to have a huge future. He takes a mean free-kick too.

Is he really that good?

I fully confess to having only seen him play a handful of times, but he has done little to impress me on those occassions.

He is quick and strong, and he's 19...and a will be a lot, lot better than Kalou haha

This is the video of some of his highlights agains Rubin Kazan

Watch for the free kick at just over a minute, then watch the replay to see some wicked pace and movement of the ball.

I obviously can't guarantee he will be succesfull at Chelsea...no one can, but all signs point to a bright future.

Oh, and it's worth noting, I don't think Inter would sell him to us...so it's a pipe dream in my eyes.

The reason he is hated and doesn't get the starts at Inter is that he has a piss awful attitude and a sack of potatoes on his shoulder. He does have bags of talent but he would be way more trouble than he is worth. I'd steer well clear.

There have been players before with bad attitude, but I would actually say that Balotelli is the worst ever. He is a first class c*nt and I can't stand him. I would rather get Rafa as out manager and Hunt, Gerrard & Carragher as replacements for Essien, Lampard and JT than have Balotelli come here. I think that says alot about my feelings towards him.

I hate him more than Lofty hates scousers.

He is built for the English game no doubt about it, but still very young and raw and could just as easy into turn a Carlton Cole rather than the next Drogba. I'd like to see what Jose can do with him for another season or two before I put the "must buy" tag on him.

Each to their own I guess..

I have already stated that he would only really be a worthy acquisition if he can get the attitude knocked out of him. He is already better than Kalou, and he should improve...a lot.

My first choice striker to buy if money is no issue is Pato.

Yeah, his attitude issues are well known. In fact, recently I'd read he as much as went on to say that he'd always been a fan of AC Milan, and not Internazionale. But all things said, he's a good striker. Good long-range shots, takes good free-kicks, and he's younger than a lot of our targets.

Wouldn't mind having him in the fold, lest he guarantees that he doesn't join and tell us he'd secretly supported ManUre.
