PS3 controller connection

Featured Replies

Ok I bought a ps3 and wireless controller a couple of days ago. Trouble is I cant seem to connect the controller to the PS3.

Reading the instruction manual it tells me to hold down the select button and left joystick at the same time and wait for a flash. But there is no flash. I have tried a load of different ways since but no responce from controller. The USB thingy still flashes alot though.

Any ideas? Part of me thinks I bought a broken pad.

In attempt to make thing simpler I have got a USB cable to plug the controller into the PS3. I plug it in and the lights at the front of the controller are just repeatedly flashing. Any idea what I do here?

While it's flashing it's charging.....give it a couple of hours and it should be fully charged. Then hold down the button and then one of the lights(probably the first) will stay on. Same with the other controller, except the second light will stay on assuming you have two controllers? But by the time you have read this you have already got it 'sorted'.

Will try that. Cheers.

You press the PS button, the one in the middle of the controls, and the lights should stop flashing, and there should just be one solid light on 1,2,3 or 4, depending on how many controllers you have plugged in.

If you have it connected via the USB cable, and there's one flashing light, that means that controller is charging, and when the light stops flashing, it's fully charged.

Alright guys I've got it now. I realised then when I was unplugging the cable I was forgetting to put the wireless USB thing in. (duh)

Thanks for the help anyway guys

This sounds like a fake ps3 controller, you aren't meant to plug anything in, besides charging it of course.

Yeah I think it is. It didnt come with anything to charge it with at all. Works alright though.
