I'm already a bit sick of hearing all the pundits raving about how good England are without Terry and Lampard so it seemed a good time to post updates on how Chelsea players are doing in their internationals this week (I couldn't see another thread)

So to start off well done Benayoun on scoring an international hat trick for Israel versus Malta - okay they are not giants of world football but still impressive

Sturridge apparently scored a goal for the U21 team.

Malouda was captain for France, but that didn't help much because they still lost to Belarus. Didn't see the game so I don't know if he was to blame or if France just sucked as usual.

He certainly did. With Franco gone and us not brining in antihero attacker - I really hope we see more of him in the Premiership this season.

I heard on the radio today that Sturridge played in a more withdrawn role, often dropping into midfield, and did very well in it. Not a position I would expect to do well in but nice to hear he adapted to it successfully.
