Chelsea TV

Featured Replies

I'm considering signing up to see more videos, live games etc. I'm just seeing if it's available to me in Australia, whether it's worth it, and just generally any other important information.

I assume not much of the content is uploaded to youtube compared to what's shown on the site?

Sorry for my noobiness about this. I can pay for it if I choose to and am eligible to sign up because I can use my Visa debit card.

It's worth it to me being in America and not having access to much Chelsea related media.

What does it give you?

They don't show live games. But they have Chelsea Radio for live games.

Basically just more interviews and highlights and such.

Well no, there's more to it than that. On Chelsea TV live anyway. I think what you're talking about is the standard CTV Online - the simulcast being unavailable in the UK. Or at least to anyone with a UK IP.

Chelsea TV (i.e. the simulcast) often shows reserves and youth team matches live (I've just watched Chelsea v Arsenal reserves) including the FA Youth Cup, of course. Then you get the full match replays, usually from midnight on match day, not to mention Classic Chelsea, which features full games from the archives. These are mostly from the last 25 years, what I'd really love is for them to show a few older games from the '70s and '80s, or even the '60s. Occasionally the 1970 FA Cup final pops up, which is essential viewing if you've never seen it. Other highlights include the "Legends" series about various players. They're currently showing a one hour special on Franco Zola, later there's a "Best of.. " featuring Tor Andre Flo. Also Phone In shows (Friday Night live), Weekend Review, PaperView and so on.

Like I said, the simulcast is unavailable to anyone with a UK IP.

You'd get the whole lot.

The actual blurb for the simulcast reads as follows:

Chelsea TV users within UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Eire are unable to watch the Chelsea TV stream. The stream is available to all users outside of these territories.

The reason for this, obviously is that Sky want us to pay them. Anywhere else in the world, you're ok.

You'd also get the video on demand clips (highlights, interviews etc) and Chelsea radio as mentioned by BlueSkies.

Ok, thanks....sounds like a good investment.

I can see all of our EPL games and ECL games already...unfortunately only the FA Cup final is broadcast here (I'd need to get Setanta for that, which I can't...actually I think Chelsea tv is part of Setanta too)...

But yeah, it seems like it could be good.

Cam there's always Foxtel or Austar, Setanta on both for the FA Cup and Chelsea TV. As far as the latter goes though it's only select bits from Chelsea TV and not on nearly enough and of course it no longer has Special1TV. But you've got to have it for Serie A & the Bundesliga & the Copa games in any event so Setanta is mandatory I would have thought.

I still live at home, and mum's paying for the pay tv...she's not willing to add Setanta to it...haha. When I get my own place (which is admittedly not looking good in the immediate future) I will see what I'll do. I can't live without pay tv anymore. Too much sport to watch...

I think I'll just sign up online and see more. So Chelsea tv won't show FA Cup matches I assume?

Not live, but they will show the whole game later. As with Premier League games, this is usually from midnight onwards UK time. You'll get plenty of replays but the only live matches they show are things like youth team, reserves and pre-season friendlies. This afternoon, for instance, they're showing Chelsea v Liverpool from 2001-2002, a "Legends" profile of Graeme Le Saux, followed by this week's Sunderland v Chelsea in full.

Brilliant. Sounds great.

As I said, I can see all the EPL games on pay tv anyway. I think they show every game now, and the vast majority are live.

Garrr...I tried to sign up and I can't find the option to pay with paypal. I filled out the form and everything and when I went to pay, it took me back to the home page...then I saw that I have an account, and went to try and buy it through a different area, and now there's only an option to pay through netbank, or direct debit.

Hmm not sure why that shouldn't work. From the sign-up page, you can select Pay by credit or debit card using PayPal and from there you should be able to proceed by clicking the PayPal button on the bottom right of the page. I can't tell you any more because I chose to pay by credit card.

However, you say you've got an account? Try logging in, click "My Account", have a look at your "Account Summary" and if necessary "Update Payment Details". And if you still don't get any joy, you could contact them about the problem.

I contacted them and said no paypal...so that sucks.

What's Netbanx? I've never heard of it before.

All I can tell you is that PayPal should work. No idea about Netbanx. In the meantime, I thought I'd share this:

Jimmy Floyd looks on having just chipped the goalkeeper to make it 2-0

Carlo Cudiccini saving Gary McAlister's penalty

Sam Della Bona slides in from close range to make it 3-0:

And a full screen capture of Eidur smashing home the fourth to put the icing on the cake:

Quality is of course dependent on your connection. The stream automatically adjusts for quality, but you can also manually select High or Low quality.

Just signed up. The only annoying thing is that the live cast while running from 10am - midnight in the UK, is 8pm - 10am my time...so much less convenient lol

The good news for you is that a lot of this stuff gets repeated, so this morning (UK time) you could catch another showing of this week's Sunderland v Chelsea game followed by a repeat of yesterday's Paper View and Paper View extra. From today's schedule I'd also recommend Friday Night Live, shown at 7:00 pm UK time, repeated at 10:30 pm, and again tomorrow at 2:00 pm.

Are any of the shows like Friday Night Live, or full matches available outside the live stream?

I think you can replay the recent matches on the Live Matches tab. Sunderland v Chelsea is currently showing, click "Older Matches" to see what else is available. Paper View extra is listed under the Features and News & Interviews tab but I'm pretty certain that Friday Night Live can only be watched via CTV live.

Hey, I'm a Chelsea tv member...I'm trying to watch some of the videos that are available, and they all work except two of the ones I want to watch...namely "Lukaku: Settling In" and "Chelsea v Fulham" match highlights.

Is anyone else having trouble playing those videos, and does anyone have a potential solution to the problem? I just don't know why those two videos don't work.

Looks like they've screwed up the links. From this page I clicked in turn, the two videos you mentioned and neither got further than the spinning circle "loading" indicator. Every other video I tried on the same page works fine, as do the other Match Highlight videos here.

Bollocks...cheers for the confirmation...

They better fix it soon...I still want those highlights.
