Posted May 22, 201113 yr its been sold, closing down end of this month! having a load of work done to it and opening up as a cocktail bar! wonder who / if they are gonna let in on a match day?! think we may have to find somewhere else.. does anyone know whats happening with the morrison aswell?
May 22, 201113 yr I think they'll be missing out on a lot of cold hard cash if they don't open up on a match-day. As for The Morrrson, something fishy is going on there, It's been closed for a hell of a long time for a so called electrical fault.

May 22, 201113 yr Im in the restaurant industry and know for a fact that both places have been on the market for ages. The Morrison is having a hard time finding a seller and I guess the owners have run out of money to keep it open day to day. They'll be saying its having repairs, as oppose to closing so as not to effect the sale or future trade. As for the So Bar ill ask a mate of mine whats going on with the new owners, he works for the agents who were involved with the sale so he might know. If anyone goes to The George, at the bottom of North End Road, you'll want to know that that's on the market as well

If anyone goes to The George, at the bottom of North End Road, you'll want to know that that's on the market as well the george dont surprise me one bit, i work in the area and sometimes go in there at lunchtime for a swift half and a game of pool, its always dead as a doornail and they let you bring your own sarnies / lunch in.. a shame really, there is so much potenial for pubs round there but i just get the impression that they aint interested in the football, just their higher class clients... who in turn, dont wana use the bloody places! does anyone know what the imperial's like these days? also hand and flower? last i heard about h & flower, a few my pals were thrown out for singing chels songs after a game! ergh
May 22, 201113 yr Im absoloutely devestated to hear this! I had such a laugh in there after the Wigan game this year totally hammered!! Need a new pre-match sing along pub a im not sure a cocktail bar will want us shedenders in there!
May 26, 201113 yr Devastated. Loved getting smashed in the So bar - having a sing - and stumbling over to the ground full of cider. Looks like it'll have be a Harvey Wallbanger from now on...... ......not.
May 26, 201113 yr Gutted !! A good sing song and ducking the celery was always my highlight of any trip to Stamford Bridge. I'll be interested to hear where the So Bar group move to.

Tried ringing the Morrison before the West Ham game to see if it had reopened and got a dead tone from the phone number posted on the Web.

Any updates you have on what's happening would be gratefully appreciated by many on here I'm sure. The tactics used by the Morrison make perfect sense. Edited May 26, 201113 yr by Scooby Blue
May 26, 201113 yr Author I know it would never happen, by last day it's open is tues 31st - we should pack it out with Chelsea for one last sing song piss up.. See it off in style!! Oh well, I can always dream.. Wonder where I'll go now o a matchday :(
May 28, 201113 yr Some So bar moments... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjiRXOIlszA&feature=related Good times. We'll do the same thing somewhere else :D
May 31, 201113 yr Had some good times at the So Bar shame it's closing. Now I tend to stick to the La Reserve hotel or the fox and phesant before then on to the souless Lloyds after the match.

Have you been going in the Fox and Pheasant long enough to be considered a regular...would be interested to know how long you have to have been a regular to get a pass that lets you in after the game?
June 4, 201113 yr Why wud the so bar close. Surely they get plenty of cash on matchdays. Thought, that myself, but, reckon it does not draw in much trade outside of match days, it's pretty grim inside. I guess 27 days a year is not enough to sustain it...shame though. Will be gutted if The Morrison goes as well, already had to find another pub this season since The Tournament shut.
June 15, 201113 yr Shame really about So Bar and The Morrison. Got to travel to the UK for the Wigan game 2 years ago. It was the prem clincher game too. Me and the wife set up shop at The Morrison and had the best vacation experience of our lives. Sorry to hear about the all this.
June 16, 201113 yr Hi boys where is the best place to go pre match. Used to go so bar but that's out the window now obviously where's the best place for atmosphere baz
