alan'82 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Not sure if it's because the transfer period is at the moment as flat as a witches t*t,(apologies to any who practise black magic),but my mind wandered to who will be the first Premier League gaffer to get the old tin tack this season. Happens every year without fail, but who will be the first casualty of 2011-12??. I suspect the favourite has to be old Warnock at Q.P.R,don't think it will take to many hammerings before he blows a gasket & either walks or gives the numpty owners an earfull. Joint second I feel is Bruce at Sunderland,(if they struggle from day one) & if the megastars fail to deliver,Mancini at Man City. Lastly, for an outside bet,I wouldn't be shocked if the fans turn on the 'Professor' old Wenger himself, especially with the mood in north London at the moment. Mind you, I could be wrong.
TheWestwayWonder Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Mancini, MacLeish, and Warnock are all decent shouts, I think. Especially the first two if they get slow starts. If Newcastle lose Enrique, Pardew could be up there too. I also think Dalglish is an outside shot. I seriously doubt the revival of last season is going to magically carry over, and if all that money doesnt translate into success, and a European place, there could be an upheaval there. The question, as always, is over whether the owners have the balls. I think for Villa MacLeish is a step in the right direction, but its shocking how far back Houllier's reign took them form the time of MoN
Myles_91 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Pardew, Keane and Warnock in that order. Wenger will go if Arsenal win nothing and Moyes will probably walk and take the Scotland job when Levein is sacked after Scotland flop their first few WC qualifiers.
andy Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) Manccini or Pardew I reckon or the bloke at Blackburn who thinks they will have Champoins League football in 2 seasons Edited August 3, 2011 by andy
The Moos Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Looking at the big clubs (City, ManU, Arsenal, Liverpool and us) I would say only one manager might get sacked and that's Mancini. ManU will never sack Ferguson. Even if they have a slow start he wont be sacked. His history can save him from almost anything. Besides, even if ManU don't play well I still don't think they'll have a rubbish start. He might quit though, but not in the middle of a season. Arsenal and Wenger seem to be one unit. And we've seen them play bad before without Wenger getting kicked out. It would take an absolutely horrible start for him to be sacked. Liverpool has found their manager it seems and I think they will keep him for awhile. He also has support from the fans, though that could change fast if they don't perform well. Still, Liverpool have failed to live up to their own expectations before without the manager getting sacked. City has stuck with Mancini for awhile now and the question is now what kind of expectations they have this season and how much patience they will have. With the players they have they should be able to compete in all competitions. A third place and the FA Cup win last season probably helped Mancini a lot, but that was last season and with a slow start in this one things might change. Mancini is a good manager, but is he the right one for City? I guess the outcome in the community shield could prove important as well. It'll be interesting to see what will happen if they start off slow. It should prove just what the bosses are like. If they're anything like our Roman Mancini will be f*cked. As for us. Well we just hired a new manager and even gave him a new title that might mean he'll have more control than our previous ones. That makes it look like they are more behind Boas. So even if we're off to a bad start there's no way Boas will be sacked. Might throw in Spurs as well actually. Doubt Redknapp is in much danger. Will have to be an abysmal start for him to be sacked, especially if they lose Modric. Finally I have to ask if there has ever been a season in which no managers have been sacked?

PloKoon13 Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Depending on how they start, Steve Kean and Steve Bruce could be early casualties. Maybe Mick McCarthy for an outside punt. Ordinarily Alan 'not a proper manager' Pardew would be in there too, but he seems to be cosy with Mike Ashley.
BlueNose Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 my hope is that its alex ferguson ;) in all seriousness i think it will be paul lambert
