Project or no project , Abramovich wont even sniff at getting rid of you, if things dont shape up.What do you mean you both thought the team was capable of winning four trophies when you set it up?. Abramovich knows nothing about football, he is entirely a business man. Any one and i mean anyone with an ounce of common sense knows thier are 7-8 players in that squad pass thier sell-by-date who are simply not good enough. Old Dogs cant play pups tricks, the other top four clubs are moving foward, leaving Chelsea behind.

Now althoug a couple of the points might be right, im not sure about the comment about RA

I think when he brought us he did maybe buy us for the lifestyle, the prestige and had a slightly more gloriuos view of what it would be (i.e the Champions League) but Over time I think he has become more and more involved and shown a Love for the club on a footballing basis rather than just viewing it as a business. After all, what business do you throw nearly £1 Billion at and it still looses you money with no end in sight of the spending and not just walk away.

I think, unlike Man city we have an owner who wants to be involved for a long time, won't sell because he gets bored and doesn't own a club for the status and bragging rights back home of owning a club like the man city Sheeikh's do

You are pasting in Sky Sports Comments from people to discuss here? What's all that about! Would it not be easier to reply to him there?

Id love to but they only post a handful of replies.

And I thought it was in interesting point of view maybe worth discussing. Apologies, as you clearly disagree

Disappointed in myself though for spelling his bloody name wrong in the title. Probably get more replies for that than the subject!!!

Mod or loz really should fix that name in the title.

My understanding is that his knowledge of the game has increased 50 fold since he took over, I can't think of exactly whose quote that is.

I feel there are still flaws at the club, but of course we've had some pretty incompetent individuals here doing some pretty important stuff over the last while.

Either way one can never discount what he has done for the club. We were on the brink before we beat Liverpool that year, and we've experienced things that I'm sure no one could have expected 10 years ago. Long may it continue.

Agreed. everything we have enjoyed over the last few years is firmly thanks to Roman. I know our team was pretty good when he took over (finished 2nd I think the year before he came in) but as you correctly pointed out, we were on the brink of being the next Leeds Utd had he not arrived

and thanks for whoever changed the title.

To be fair just, he has owned one of the biggest football clubs in the world for the past decade, during that time he would have discussed the game with some of the best minds involved with it, including probably 3 of the best managers going around in Carlo, Guus and Jose.

I think he'd know a fair bit about it nowadays and I'd suggest his understanding of the game would put almost all if not all of us in the shade.

When it comes to Chelsea he isnt a business man. No business man would sanction 50m on an out of form striker or 30m firing a great manager & hiring a mediocre one

have a Russian mate at work that said the government back then after communism fell , basically handed over a bunch of state run assets for pennies because they didnt want the problems, he RA was at the right place in time with some investment cash and by smart business acumen made a fortune , he also knows how to grease the wheels of power and became a governor of some place in Siberia and looked after the eskimos to please Putin

So hes obviously sussed at business, and has the deep deep pockets to prove it

Football - well after a promising start on his investment its apparent that after his ego & henchmen told him he could run the club and he fired Jose and even slippery Kenyon bailed - I would say he is struggling to run the club on the pitch, off the pitch the global brand is doing well - record turnover, and Torres probably sold a shed load of shirts in Asia, but I dont care about that, football being played matters to me and it become mediocre most of the time so hes stiffing at football IMHO
