Not travelling to Munich?

Featured Replies

Hi all, unfortunately I am not able to travel over to Munich this weekend ( and am very jealous of those that are!!) but want to watch the game near to the ground for obvious reasons! I would usually go to the Imperial but after watching the last CL final there am worried that it is unlucky!! And I have just realised that the Morrison is now closed - so want some ideas of good pubs (pref with a big screen or lots of Tvs) near to the ground for about 10 of us ( mental Chelsea family!) to watch the game, have a sing song and a beer - any ideas??

There's been a few threads about this but they haven't really got anywhere. I'm flying from Dublin with my dad to Bristol & getting train to London. Really need to find a boozer with something happen. Pity there's no beamback considering they don't want fans travelling to Munich without tickets.

I agree, seems silly that they did one for the FA cup final but not for this, arguably a much bigger game. Still am not gonna be deterred from spending it with (hopefully) crowds near the Bridge!! Will have a look at the pubs suggested and go from there - just don't want somewhere that's dead with no atmosphere!

Do you seriously think that Fulham will not be absolutley mobbed for this? You will be lucky to get in a boozer round there. I watched the Moscow final in the slug and they had more than enough TVs. The only problem was that the coverage didn`t get switched over untill just before kick off, because of the idiot landlord watching some aussie rules game upstairs!!! Honestly thought it was going to kick off had it not come on when it did. Anyhow it was great in the end, singing, beer everywhere, a couple of fights, oh and a heart stopping match too. This one will be even better when we win, and being chelsea theres always the chance of a riot after the game too,

I will be in either Wimbledon or Putney.Just a short tube ride from the Bridge for when the game is finished.I did hear quiet a few pubs in Wimbledon for the Barca game were mobbed out so i was told to get up early.Aint been up from Wiltshire for a few years now, but its got to be better than Swindon. If failing that does anyone know wether the Traf or the Potter on the Kings road will show it or are those boozers completely Yuppiefied now.Anyway all the best to all the blues making the journey stay safe have a fantasic time and make us proud.

Moscow final we were locked out of the Goose by 5pm, ended up in the Nelson for the 1st half which was dead, then in the Wellington for the 2nd half which was rammed, left straight after the pens & watched while loads of drunk youths attacked fulham ob outside fb station.

If i was going to CFC i'd get in the Goose early, plenty of screens & cheap food & booze what more can you want?

Am looking to get down there fairly early as am sure pubs will start refusing entry, Was in Brogans for the build up to the FA cup final but bouncer was getting a*sey with the singing (despite the thousands being spent over 6/7 hours at the bar by blues fans!!!) although it looked cracking in the video showing fans at full time so am tempted to try there again!

In case anyone is interested, have rung the Imperial and they are not allowing any football supporters on before 4 o clock on Saturday, conversely I have also rung Brogans who are advising fans to get there BEFORE 4 and are expecting a large crowd for the Irish rugby earlier in the day!!! So am still in quandary....

If anyone is going to the Imperial will you please let me know. That's where I plan to head but wont be able to get there till fairly late, I spoke to the manager and was told that if I'm with a group that are already there they'll let me in. All I need to do know is find a group to drink with as everyone I'd normally go with is either on holiday or going to Munich!!!

You'll be alright on trains on a Saturday I would have thought. Most engineering works are on a Saturday. I work for railway so if I can help in anyway let me know. I.e checking maintenance works that may trouble you

I rang the Elk bar, they said they are showing it and no conditions apart the fact that they are doing their usual trick of shutting after the game to clear up and re-open after.(I'm not sure they have thought through the fact that there could be extra time and pens very well!)

Me and some pals are going to the rib shack first then hit the Elk Bar about 6. I don't care if they shut afterwards as I will either be running around the streets with my flag or going home straight after glum!

They did say they are expecting it to be busy and will adopt a one out one in policy once full.

C'mon Chels!

No idea what I'm going to do now. Couple of people have bailed so I'm meeting a mate after he finishes work at 6:30. Sounds like he'll have a hard time getting in to wherever I am around the Bridge.

Any blues fans here from or in Lebanon? I am in Beirut and will be settling in down the greedy goose (Monot Street) for a couple of Al Maza's. Got a table booked so let me know if you fancy joining me. 03563793.
