Morning....After getting a swift n brief nostalgia trip early this morning watching a clip that included "Eccles" i wondered if anyone knew of a couple of characters from early 70s chelsea. The first one was a known character at many chelsea games..Known on trains away...I watched him , as an aquaintance grow from a slim fit skinhead, to , lets say (incase he still uses his bovver boots) a portly man..I once went out with an ex of his and was turned over outside the Bridge by a small mob of his mates who he had told i was a man city fan..It was a clever move....He came i think from Elephant n castle..His name Bill Finney...Wondered if hes still with us n what hes doing in life...The second is a blond shedgirl known by the name MANDY WHITE..I think from aylesbury...A friendly girl....Anyone know how they are?

I remember Bill from back in the early 70's when he only young, he'd always be hanging around Fulham Broadway station before a game. Haven't seen him since then though, or maybe I have and didn't recognise him.

I got to know the guy from the old football specials. Like yourself I haven't seen him for years. Unless my memory is playing tricks (which is quite possible after all this time) he was missing a couple of front teeth. Oh and he loved a drink!

had a drink and a laugh with bill a few times at the bridge and away games, bit of a funny fooker and always laughing. thought he came from kennington, but that's close enough to the elephant to be unimportant. remember him running across the pitch on a televised game once wearing his customary scruffy sheepsking, not seen or heard of him for many a year now though. he was also pretty well known at millwall due to him being from where he was and i've heard tell that he saved a few chelsea from a battering at the 76 game.

Anyone remember Colin from the mid 70s? He had a blond Ziggy Barnet and I remember he gave me and my brother a ride to Brighton for a bank holiday outing before we went to Charlton in the evening where, oddly, their stand caught fire!

Yep,sure it was CD. There used to be a fair few of us who'd meet in what was then the Red House on Chelsea Green on Friday nights to plan away outings the next day. It's now a nightmare gastro joint but used to host some naughty boys.

If it's the same Tank I'm thinking of, he lived somewhere around Romford way or maybe Loughton, but definitely Essex. He had a mate called Tiny, not as dark skinned but a little Semitic looking. Going back to 1971-1972, we often used to go places after home games, including Battersea Funfair, Waterloo (with a couple of girls in tow) and the Serpentine/Hyde Park or sometimes up West.
