Its a bloody shame the way the pubs have gone over Chelsea,used to have a good crack in the stamford bridge arms and of course the rising sun before that,songs used to be going till late into the night,same as a lot of pubs all along the fulham and kings road.Brittania was another(so bar),used to have bands on in the evening,spit and sawdust sort of pub look at that now.every one moans about the atmospere that gone in the ground but the pubs have gone the same way,the chelsea drug-store,black-bull,white hart,swan,amongst others used to be banged out with lads every week,dont remember even having bouncers on the doors at all or maybe in the evening.still i think i'm stuck in those days sometimes,things move on and i suppose we all have to move on with it,one day soon i'll make that move .

I've been hoping that game would turn up on youtube mate, one of my favourite away trips that season, 10 goal thriller, good Chelsea support there, shame another old classic English ground gone now though.

The old north stand is the only part of the ground old or new that i have never been in and can't remember it being open when i started going in 70/71,when was it actually condemmed.Garry still looking forward toseeing the pictures.

IMO the best post so far. What a fantastic match on a bog of a pitch, Man Utd in their European Cup winning prime and a massive crowd boosted by a huge Red Army turnout. Thanks for this, brilliant.

Bolton away 1977 2-2 draw report from manchester evening paper,Went with my dad to this and a couple of his friends and as chelsea took the bolton end,all the chelsea at the other end charged across the pitch to join them with bolton fans coming the other way.Can remember finding my mate asleep on a railway bridge after doing a bottle of whiskey and carried him into ground where he slept on the terrace the entire game,and a police horse standing on my dads foot and him nearly getting nicked after having a go at the copper,and being gutted that i coundnt charge across the pitch with the rest of the chelsea as i was with my dad .
