Refs, about time they spoke after games.

Featured Replies

After all that's gone on about referees lately, about mistakes & wrong decisions being made,my main gripe with them is that you hardly ever hear them explain their decisions after games.

How come?.

In fact, you hardly ever hear from them at all.Talk about bad public relations, they appear to be unapproachable.

As fans,we need more from them,it's the least we deserve & while I'm having a moan, more transparency about the proffesional body that governs them would be appreciated to.

It's a tricky job when all is said & done but their 'wall of silence', makes it appear to be a slightly 'dodgy' one as well.

I really don't belive things can carry on like this, irrespective of the outcome of the Clattenberg affair.

Do you have any ideas?.

If you allow them to do post match interviews, they'll all get like Graham Poll - attention seeking twats whose sole aim when referring a match is to grab as much limelight as possible.

Well..they'll get more like him anyway.

Here's an idea, forget interviewing players and managers post match, in fact make it a rule that no player or manager is allowed to comment publicly about the game for 24 hours.

What they have to say is not worth listening to 99% of the time.

Instead we could have the four match officials out there answering the questions, "did you see Torres get caught", "did you not realise the winning goal was miles offside"...those kind of questions.

Also take the power away from referees regarding 'simulation', and instead let the FA punish the offenders after analysing the videos, then they can be more severe with the obvious cheaters, and the innocent players won't get punished.

Do like Rugby and let us all hear what the referee has to say during a match to players. This way we would hear all players being treated equally and also any players who swore at referees would also be picked up and duly punished.
