Alan Hudson

Article in The Independent today about Alan. Update about how he is and what he's up to now.

Updating his autobiography so doing a bit of media stuff.

Says he feels disconnected with Chelsea ( must be a vintage poster ! ) and feels more for Stoke. A real shame as you could not have got a more local hero than Alan. He was an amazing talent would be worth £ 30m in todays market, also had the biggest beer belly I've ever seen on a sportsman in that pre-season team photo around 71 ish.

Alan Hudson legend.

Yep. He was defo one of , IMO, those FLAIR players of those days....Longish hair.Sideburns...Dribbler, good crosser, scored some flair goals....When he went on a run he reminded me of  a RODNEY MARSH type...Loved watching him.....

Do Stoke do things to help him that he claims Chelsea don't, in his numerous swipes at the club?

Strange as well that the club seem to look after as many old players as they can nowadays, long overdue recall for Tommy Langley excepted, yet Hudson is out on his own, must have upset somebody upstairs.

I never saw him play but he was supposed to be quality, i aint got any time for him though, he does nothing but slag the club off.

When he got run down & in hospital he couldnt wait to go to the press & moan that CFC hadnt done anything to help even though he was on benefits, why should CFC help him? my past employers havent ever helped me out.

If he loves Stoke that much why dont he f@ck off & live there then, bitter old alky twisted has been.

Trouble is plenty of ex players/fans favs from the 60s/70s have slagged the club off over the years especially when we were skint & also when under Bates, funny how they dont run to the press now CFC look after em eh.

f**k yeah,well said mate.

Some of us have long memories.

i think it first started when he rejoined in 1983 and got the hump cos he never got a game even though we had the likes of nevin, spackman, bumstead and cannonville in midfield.in the mid 90's he used to that q and a in the mh stand after the game was he still doing that when he got knocked over? i think bates done that as a favour cos he was potless since he retired. i have to say him and ossie were my first chelsea heroes but as a bloke he's a miserable tit

I think he was damaged mentally as well as physically in his accident so i feel he should be given a bit of leaway...M.O.O. Wheres your christmas spirit..Put you hands in your pockets n send him an xmas hamper...... ::ChELSeAFaN::

I remember his accident was truly horrific, but the bitterness had set in well before. I remember him as a guest on TV before the cup final v Manure in 94, and he said he didn't want us to win. He had long ceased to be a Chelsea supporter, so I can't understand why he feels the club should have given him more support than they have.

I'm sure he was a Fulham fan growing up mate, maybe thats where his bitterness comes from? it must be freezing cold always being in Chelsea's shadow for that lot!

Strange that the likes of Osgood/Harris/Hudson to name a few always felt the need to slag us off in the press especially when the club needed them the most, when we nearly went bust in 82, yet most of the 80s early 90s players never seemed to slag us off, think Spackman was a dick once saying he wanted Liverpool to knock us out the CL but thats about it as far as i'm aware.?
