Hello True-Bluelievers...

I am a massive fan based in New York.  The wife and I are taking a trip in April that will take us through London for a few days.  In all her grace and charity, she suggested we try to see a Chelsea match while we're there.  Unfortunately, I don't know how to get tickets.

We'll be in London for two matches: the as-yet-undetermined April 14 fixture (Either Spuds at the Bridge or City at Wembley), and Fulham away.  Obviously, it would be a dream to see us beat Spuds at home or smash City at the house that Drogba built, but I would be happy to see Chelsea play anywhere (seen them in the States twice).

I don't have a membership this season, so am at a bit of a disadvantage there.  Would any of you kind souls have any tips on how/where to get a pair of tickets on short notice? Hopefully without breaking the bank?  If they're really pricey, I'll probably just get one.

Also, any tips on seating sections?  I want to experience some atmosphere, but need to be mindful of the lady's sensibilities.

I was afraid that would be the case...  Anyone have experience doing so?  Not that I espouse the practice, but should I obtain tickets that way, what should I expect to pay?  Are there a lot of counterfeits floating around outside stadiums?

I'd also keep an eye on www.cfctickets.com I've got three tickets from there now with no trouble.. so keep an eye out, hope that helps.  You can also go through viagogo but it would be very expensive..

Seems like a great resource.  Thanks linesy!

Do you guys use Craigslist in the UK?  I've gotten concert tickets from there in NY.  My biggest concern after the cost is, are the tickets genuine?  And if there's a lot of counterfeiting, maybe it's not worth taking the gamble...

As mentioned by others ticket touts are an option but you are better off going with ViaGoGo or cfctickets.com. Never used craigslist but as I said your better options are the two I mentioned. Hope you get the tickets mate!

There's no hope in hell of getting A ticket for Fulham away. Whereas for spuds, you need a membership for buying tickets on viagogo so your only options are that other website or getting one off a tout which is risky. In terms of best atmosphere at the bridge, the loudest is the Matthew Harding and then I'd say the shed end then the west stand and the least atmosphere is the east stand although good view. Not sure about the situation for Wembley providing that we beat united on Monday but I know it'll be hard to get tickets for that. All the best mate.

I wouldnt use Craigslist for Chelsea Tickets Seedubs purely because the probability of them being real would be very low.

If you end up having to use a tout * and yes they will cost you alot , even 10 mins after kick off * theres a few older chaps who have touted Fulham Broadway for years and always have real tickets, if you get the underground * SUBWAY * to the game you will find them outside the station. If the seller looks like an extra from a cheap drama about Liverpool supporters then i would keep walking. Good luck in your Quest, either game would be a great 1st match in England for anyone.

I went to the Chelsea v city game in November without a ticket and just hovered around Fulham Broadway quietly saying 'any spare tickets' and I got one off a bloke for £80 which as far as touts go, isn't bad although I think he just had a spare to get rid off

Tickets for the semi at wembley may not be as hard to get as you think. Chelsea fans are a bit blase about wembley these days and some see the semi as a bit of a non event. Tickets up the back of the top tier are awful and id watch on the tv all day long rather than be up there again. Id say push the boat out and go club wembley. Great view and in the middle of the atmosphere.

How does Club Wembley work?  Went to the website but it wasn't too clear.  And how far are we pushing the boat out?  Don't know if I can get a second mortgage on the house on such short notice... :)

At this point, I suppose I'll be looking for touts at Wembley. I've got my eyes on the CFCTickets website just in case.

If any member of the Shed End community has an extra or spots an opportunity, please DM me as I would be very interested in going.

Thanks a million!

Great that you got a ticket! There is a Wembley pubs thread, have a look at that. I went to Wembley for the spurs semi and Liverpool final. It's an awesome stadium, good facilities. Top of the range everything basically!
