For me, it was where our successes of recent years really started, not so much on the pitch but more with the little things in the background. It was massive at the time, Chelsea just didn't get big names like Hoddle. I was just so excited, what a player and what an ethos he had.

I was (and to a certain degree still am) a huge fan of Hoddle though I know it's not a sentiment shared by all CFC fans, but I thought it was a milestone worth highlighting, not at the least to simply proove how time bloody well flies by.

As much as I can't stand the guy he started something amazing here and for that I am forever grateful

He's a bit of a d**khead but he definitely sparked something here. Without him we probably would never have attracted Gullit, who in turn signed Zola, Di Matteo, etc.
