3rd in Wages league

Pretty shocked that we are below Man Utd.

We can go a lot lower when you think Lampard, Eto'o & Cole's contracts are coming to an end, Hopefully Torres/Mikel will be shipped out. Thats roughly £550,000 a week off the wage bill if they all leave in the summer. More than enough to cover wages for the new signings.

and we spend £57m less on wages than Man City! - £57m!!!  Now the Etihad has about the same capacity as the Bridge but I don't see the interest in City that there is in Chelsea in the USA, Thailand-Asia generally or Africa.  How they are meeting FFP is beyond me.

I doubt mikel is on high wages at all. Last time I checked it was rumoured around 60k pw.

I thought it was around 75k p/w, Still a fair bit for someone who doesn't play much

Loads of opportunities on the financial side next season; If Torres, Lamps, Ash and Eto'o move on thats 4 of our 6 biggest earners right there totalling 550k+ a week. Having said that, getting someone to take Torres' total wage bill would be a miracle!

4 Million of that bill was separation payments to RDM too.
