I would guess

60s - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

70s - I would have guessed Dark Side of the Moon but I know this was much earlier than 79 - maybe Bat Out of Hell?

80s - Thriller

90s - I have a disgusting feeling this could be the SPice Girls

Like people have said, the best selling album of the 80's has to be Michael Jackson's Thriller, but I have no idea what the others are. Something tells me the best selling album of the 90's is something by Eminem...was he releasing records already in 1997? Probably wasn't. But it has to be something that sells a lot in the US to get the top spot.

Alanis Morissette or Tupac for the 90's? Tupac got shot in 96' and an album was due for release shortly after so that sold mad. Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette was also a massive seller, not sure either sold to those figures though.

Well done Loz correct on one ,right band wrong album on 2 others

Thriller must be the correct one - maybe White Album for the Beatles instead of Sgt Pepper and The Wall then (stupid of me to count out Dark Side of the Moon because it was released too early and then not go for The Wall which I know was 79)

Must admit the 90s one is a tough one as I had little interest in most of the music in the late 90s

Well, since Pink Floyd was right but Dark Side of the Moon was wrong, it could only be one record. icon_wink.gif

I can't believe Wall has sold more copies than Dark Side of the Moon. How much more did it sell? Any idea? icon_eek.gif

I take it I'm wrong on either.

This had made the penny drop (or potentially) - for it to have sold those kinds of figures in the US in the 90s we have to be talking about COuntry music - this can only lead us to one of two names, Garth Brooks or Shania Twain. I have no idea what albums they will have released or when however I would wager one of them is right p at the top of the album sales list for the 90s.
