May 19, 201610 yr OMG. At least understand the stats you are posting. Squawka ratings are a summary of the entire season. The more games you play, the more points you have. Djilobodji played 13 games out of a possible 34 and he gained his points from just 13 games (averaging 13 points per game), as compared to the other defenders who have points from 28-32 games (averaging 8 pts, 9 pts and 15 pts per game - yes, Vestergaard had a higher average, but the Dane actually had a great season, his value at Transfermarkt spiked this season). If you really want to go statwise Papy Djilobodji averaged 7,31 @ Whoscored, which is the highest average of all the players at Bremen. To put that into perspective it would make him a top 20 player in the Bundesliga and the 4th best defender in the Bundesliga behind Matt Hummels, Joel Matip and left back Jonas Hector (he's not listed, because you need to play at least half the games to be on the general listing. It also means he has a higher season Whoscored average than any other Chelsea player - be it at the club (Willian has 7,2) or on loan (such as Juan Cuadrado, Andreas Christensen, Nathan Ake, Dominic Solanke, Kenneth Omeruo or Mohamed Salah). Hope that puts his Werder Bremen loan performance in perspective for you guys. You forgot MvG his whoscored rating is 7.52 for PSV
May 19, 201610 yr Hope Werder keep him and give us our money back, that would be the best outcome for both parties here. It's clear Conte has plans for JT and with Zouma coming back and his Italian connections I doubt Papy would picture for us. I would say Papy's value has gone up significantly since we bought him, throat cutting gesture aside he has been pretty beastly for Bremen
May 19, 201610 yr No, you can't make what you want from stats. Treat stats with some distance, but you can't ignore them wholesale. And for one thing don't compare apples and oranges. What you did was the equivalent of letting one team play 10 matches and the other play 30 matches and then ridiculing the first team for having just 2/3 the same amount of points. Absurd to put it lightly At least admit you messed up with your stat. But no... you decided to pretend like you didn't. But you did. And the best retort you could come up with is... but but but but but he's a weak passer... Fact remains that Djilobodji ended up with a higher season rating on Whoscored than every single Chelsea player, including on loan players you are salivating about like Ake or Christensen... John you can put in comparison against any player on there over the same period. Christenson actually comes out 3rd in the Bundesliga in the period from end of Jan to May. Not that it really matters it doesnt take into account how the rest of the team played etc , who against etc . my original point was that stats actually mean so little. You have regularly come on here giving to large on his behalf when he has a good game but strangely go missing or cover his faults up when he has a poor game. Best bet is for you to keep your opinion and others have their own. For the record I'd love him to be as good as you claim , he just isnt from the game I have seen in him this season. http://www.squawka.com/football-player-rankings#performance-score#player-stats#german-bundesliga|season-2015/2016#all-teams#defender#17#39#0#0#90#31/01/2016#14/05/2016#season#1#all-matches#total#desc#total
May 19, 201610 yr Author You forgot MvG his whoscored rating is 7.52 for PSV Sorry, missed that one :)
May 20, 201610 yr Author I think one thing we can be sure of is that Conte will be heavy on Serie A transfers...
May 20, 201610 yr Sky Italia reports that Napoli has rejected an offer from us for Koulibalyi guess we actually are interested in him
May 20, 201610 yr I'd be comfortable if we signed the whole left side of Napoli's defence. Koulibaly and Ghoulam. Jeez we'd have a beast mode central defensive combo with Zouma and Koulibaly.
May 20, 201610 yr Author Question begs whether any champions league defender will actually want to join us. Heavy financial incentive needed.
May 20, 201610 yr Question begs whether any champions league defender will actually want to join us. Heavy financial incentive needed. Any player joining us from Italy will likely double or triple their wages. That should be incentive enough for them.
